So this book gave me so much useful information. You can't really on what you hear from coworkers, this book will explain everything you will need to know to bring you to the finish line of.......retirement.

Enjoyed this book, well written, factual and concise. Gentlemen, here is your roadmap for a successful and reasonably secure retirement, all you have to do is be disciplined and plan. Do not depend on others for information search it out for yourselves and apply it, don’t depend on self-serving investment firms that have a retired Chief as their front man manage your financial future for you.

Buy it when u first get on instead of close to retirement

Excellent source of information for retirement. A must read! Concise, smartly written, easy to understand. Guys and gals out there wondering whether to spend the money or not, do it, don’t wait another second. This book should be read a few times to understand your financial future once you leave the job.

Very informative book. good for NYPD officers

This is a must read for every tier two or tier three mos. Don t listen to rumors from someone else go straight to the facts. They should give you this book in the academy. It s a real easy read too. The case studies towards the end of the book are spot on.

Whether you have 20 years or 20 minutes on the job, you need to be prepared to retire move on, especially in these times. The NYPD pension is very complex and if you sacrifice a little, especially in the early years, it really grows at an incredible rate. Pension seminars only come around a few times a year (almost never for tier 3), and they are tremendously beneficial, but having this book around for reference is equally beneficial. Make your own decisions based on facts and knowledge, not what someone else feels is right for them.

Every member of the NYPD should buy this and stop asking questions on random social media posts! Real info, great charts, and things you need to know! Obviously you'll need a financial advisor come retirement but it lays a great framework of information
