Finding confirmation
For me, I was drawn to this book as a form of validation in my own path:I started in magick from a ceremonial path. As a teen I was doing Solomonic work, and as an adult in my early 30's I got into a Golden Dawn based group... then 6 or so more occult groups, all very ceremonial. In time, I started to feel divergent from the ceremony. Certainly I got results doing the ritual and ceremony of say a Golden Dawn order, but in time I found that once I had established a root into an energy system I didn't need the ritual to open to it. Rather than do a 45 min. setup to open a portal to the Earth energies, I could lay on a couch and bring to mind the Prithvi symbol for Earth, or connect to an entity I had previously worked with, without the invocation rituals. Some examples of non-ceremonial work (which this author calls Instant Magick) were: - Manifesting a salary 30% more than I was previously making - Bridging into Prithvi, communicating with a being who fixed something broken in my life (a true miracle) - Saving a friend from a kidnappingIn each case that worked, I had an intent (strong intent), and a reverence for the work. This wasn't some lazy approach... that isn't why I wasn't using ritual, it simply wasn't needed anymore. Today I find that devotion also plays a role in this type of magick. Devoted to Source, Dao, a Goddess/God, etc. I work regularly now with Hekate, yet I don't use ceremony or ritual... rather I use devotion and intent. We won't always have ritual tools at our disposal. Knowing how to create change is important when we're not able to create a ceremony, ritual or spell work due to circumstance or location.I really like the authors methods. Although I have my own method of altered state consciousness, I think his is pretty good. The main thing is not the trappings of technique, but the result of altered state. For me I enter it by rooting into the present moment. Removing the 'monkey mind' through attention to what is going on now... the sounds, the smells, the feelings. Breath meditation also helps me, and you can do it anywhere you're allowed to breathe :) You also don't need to close your eyes for that.I've read another book of Penczaks' called "The Inner Temple of Witchcraft." A lot of the same methods are repeated here. Still, I find both books very encouraging and useful. The only thing I'd add would be a state beyond just meditative, but of non-thought all-together. Non-thought states (non surface thought) helps in removing the ego consciousness that tends to distract. In a meditative state we can ask, "should I do so and such, is that my true will?" The ego might just respond back with a "yes" or "no." The ego likes to do that. But if one is in a state of non-thought, then you don't wait for the answer, you sorta just are the answer. You are the decision. I dont know how to describe it in words... but that's how it feels to me. Anyway... great book.

one of the best
books on magick, for beginners and practitioners alike.there are so many facets to magick, so many ways of doing it, all based on the same fact - that everything we think, say and do is magick, it's energy, and energy never dissipates, it just changes shape and in doing so changes our surroundings, curcumstances, and our lives.the author is well versed in many traditions and systems of magics, and understanding it is all about doing the same (magick) in different ways, he mixes and matches, enabling himself (and us, thru this book) to explore, find what works best, improvise, work with the energy as we feel it, instead of being fixated on a certain "recipe".excellent exercises throuot the book, short summaries of various magickal systems / traditions (elemental, chakras, stone spirits, animal spirits / shamanism etc) and list of correspondesnces, animal spirits, stone spirits, plant spirits, deities.i am thrilled to own it.i park in the center of zagreb using visualizations from this book. people from zagreb will know what it means when i say i park in front of hard rock cafe in gajeva :))

Excellent!
Christopher Penczak is perhaps one of the most approachable authors on the subject of Wicca and Magick today. In Instant Magick, Penczak describes methods and approaches to everyday spellcraft and magickal approaches to the little - and not so little - things in life. Whener Penczak excells in comparison to many other authors is that any of his books, this one included, will provide a basic background in the theory and practice of magick, as well as enough of a "it's not the form, it's the intent" reminder that the new practitioner can pick it up and feel confident out the gate that they aren't doing things "wrong", while the experienced practitioner can pick it up and integrate elements of Penczak's approach into their own knowing that Pencak himself is an eclectic practitioner whose practices appear to resemble more of a collage than rigid doctrine, and he did the same thing.Whether new or experienced, there is something here for you, and the writing style is superb.

Excellent book!!!
Another one of Christopher's excellent books on magick. I enjoyed reading this book very much. As per his usual style, he makes it easy to understand without undermining what is involved in the topic at hand. I utilized Instant Magick as I was reading the book and it worked very well for me. Even surprisingly well. Magick does not have to be complicated to be powerful and present in our lives. Bravo again Christopher for an excellent read!

Really, really good!
I enjoy reading this author's work. I feel like he's there beside me guiding me gently through the material. This book is great for use in daily life without drawing any attention to what you are doing - I always get the perfect parking space and have let some of my friends know this secret and they use it now every day.I think this author likes to weave beliefs, rituals and ancient knowledge to make modern life all the more richer. I a world where we get to focused on what we have rather than what we are here is an author who gently leads you back to your true self.I can recommend any of this author's books and when read with an open mind can only enrich.

The best there is!!!!
As a seasoned witch and magical author, I have found no better work than everything presented in these pages. The book cuts straight to the heart of magick, without getting lost in the usual theoretical speculation that so many other works do. Different strokes for different folks, but this is a rare jewel among magical literature. If the seeker is truly dedicated real mastery awaits them. There were a few grammatical errors here and there, but the teachings are second to none and worth every second. Thank you for this teaching! Blessed be!
