Huge Baking Dish - Perfect For Lasagna.
I love the Pyrex brand and have several pieces of food storage ware but this was my first piece of cookware/bakeware. I recently got into the habit of making lasagnas and while I have a few decent sized corningware casserole pans they weren't large enough to fit full sized lasagna noodles. I always had to add an extra step to prep and cut the noodles in half. I was in the market for a good quality large baking dish when this baking dish went down in price to a whopping 7 dollars. At that price this was a steal, however even when this dish is 20 dollars it's is definitely worth the money. This Pyrex baking dish was exactly what I was looking for. It's a generous size - 15 inches long, 10 inches wide and 2 inches deep. I was able to make a 6 layer lasagna and still had enough depth for another layer or two. This is the perfect baking dish to make lasagnas, casseroles and other baked dishes (such as chicken parm) if you are feeding a crowd, it's definitely large enough for BIG meals. With any glass bakeware you have the risk of it shattering thanks to thermal shock (glass expanding due to temperature change thus shattering. Something that is taught in high school chemistry. I'm not trying to be rude but it's easy to forget things you learned in high school chemistry after all those years). Pyrex glass is not immune to thermal shock. There are two rules to follow to prevent shattering. 1) After baking never place the bakeware on a counter without a silicone trivet since the counter will be cooler than the dish and 2) Always make sure the dish has reached room temperature before placing it into the refrigerator from oven or placing it into the oven from the refrigerator. My mother taught me those rules and I can remember her following them 20+ years ago even before Pyrex changed their glass formulation. I'm not saying you can't put it straight on a counter or in the fridge after taking it out of the oven, nor am I saying you can't put it in the oven straight from the fridge but why chance it?As long as it is handled properly and treated with care this Pyrex baking dish will be used to make all of your large baked meals for years to come.

Works just fine if you read and follow directions.
I bought one of these because it's reputation of pyrex. After is shipped I started to worry a bit because I got around to reading the reviews then I realized it seems most people aren't following instructions or don't know how to use glass baking dishes. I've always had glass bakeware and never had anything explode in the oven or any where for that matter. When you buy this the instruction tell you not to thermally shock the glass which is a no brainier I feel anyone over 10 should know not to thermally shock ANY glass. It's the same reason people don't drink coffee out of drinking glasses, well that and they need a handle that a mug offers.Old pyrex you could put on the open flame of a stove top to make a sauce. You can't with this new pyrex which isn't a big deal really. If you pull your 400 degree dish out of the oven it should be going onto a dry cloth or cooling racks atop your stove. Not onto a room temperature counter that will thermally shock it or onto a pool of water on your counter that is room temp. If you're roasting meats you should be adding a bit of liquid to this dish before putting it in the oven but in reality you should be doing that with all roasting meats and if you're not, I don't want to eat at your house. Our dish was on top of our stove waiting to be put away and it was dropped from the stove top the 2nd day we owned it. It didn't break or crack. I've been using it for a while now and have no problems or explosions. It's not a stainless steel sheet pan that you can use and abuse. Glassware is like Cast Iron cookware. You have to know how to take care of it, respect it and use it right.

Wonderful experience, to heal my broken heart
When I need a pyrex pan this size nothing else will do. I was heart sick when I accidentally broke my biggest and at times best over 20 year old Pyrex pan. I expected to pay an arm and a leg to replace it. To my pleasure and surprise the price was great and my pan arrived quickly in fact two days early.

My turkey pan!
There are lots of obvious uses for this pan, such as jumbo portions of lasagna. But for me, this is also the pan I haul out at Thanksgiving for turkey duty. Rather than use a conventional covered roasting pan that'll spend 11 months of the year gathering dust out in the garage, I've found this -- with the turkey size Reynolds oven roasting bags -- to be the perfect solution for extra-large (around 22 lbs.) birds. The standard 13"x9" pans are good for turkeys up to about 16 lbs, and I use this method for cooking chickens throughout the year. (The smaller Pyrex baking pans nestle inside this one in my cupboard.) My thinking is that it's the same amount of effort to stuff and cook a larger bird as it is the smaller, and I'm glad to have leftover turkey tucked away in my freezer for the next few weeks. The plastic bag keeps the meat moist and helps it cook evenly, as the steam is contained around the bird. And this jumbo Pyrex pan is easy to clean: it fits in the side slot in my dishasher, where a standard covered roasting pan would be just too big and require hand washing.Highly recommended.

Great Value and durability
I've read the reviews that the quality of Pyrex glass is not the same as it used to be, however, I find it to continue to stand up to the test of time. Based on the number of times Pyrex goes from the oven to the dishwasher, I still find them quite irreplaceable in the kitchen. I especially like this larger size. Nailed my chicken parm for Christmas and it was nice being able to fit them all into one pyrex dish. Oh, and the price? At $12 per dish, how can you go wrong?

Lovely dish
No issues with cracking, chipping, or haziness. It’s great dish for large family meals or potlucks, no regrets.
