Great 12 volt supply if you can solder.
I purchased this to be a 12volt power supply to power an audio amp home sub setup. Usually other dedicated 12 supplies are quite a bit more expensive on a per watt basis. (It must be said that this supply recently went up $15 so you may want to shop around).Doing this will save you money, but the downside is you must hack the supply to turn it on. Please note that you may google some instructions telling you to jumper 2 pins with a 1k ohm resistor, however this is not correct for this unit. For this unit you need to jump the second pin from the left to the pin immediately on the flip side of the board. No resistor needed. Basic soldering skills can splice in an on off switch if desired. As for power hook up I used a chunk of solder and soldered on 2 8ga power leads of 3 feet which is adequate up to 10 foot length. As for performance, I tried several audio amps in increasing size and it wasn't until I got to a Rockville RXD-M2 that I recorded voltage drops. My clamp meter only does AC so I must guess, but I was likely exceeding 80 amps at that point. If you want a little more out of it, while googling I saw several mentions some tinkerers that upped the voltage output to 13+ volts with some strategic resistor placement. It's good enough for me as is though. I must mention at this point that the data sticker shows 3 different ratings of 800, 1000, and 1200 watts. Guessing from model naming nomenclature have an 800 watt unit, but I am still unsure. Still a value winner.

New power supply did not last!
This is the second power supply that I purchased from this source. The first lasted two years and the second lasted less than a year. Beware!
