Danger! Defective mouse cooked itself!!
I purchased two of these in early 2012. In July, my husband heard loud popping sounds, and discovered the mouse was cooking. He could hear the mouse sizzling, the plastic on the side was starting to melt, and there was battery fluid in the battery compartment. The time has expired to return the product to Amazon, so I have notified the company directly for further instructions, and I am concerned about the remaining mouse.Update: I contacted the company, and they quickly sent me a replacement mouse with their apologies. Unfortunately, the new mouse only worked for about three seconds. We tried it on our laptop and pc. I have contacted the company again and will post any updates.Update 2: I returned the two defective items (the "cooked" one and the one that did not work) directly to the company with the free shipping label they provided. In return I received two new units, which are currently working fine. I am raising my rating from one star to three based on the excellent customer support.

Nexus SM9000-C Good Things & Bad Things
The buttons are a very nice improvement to the loud clicking. The left and right buttons work just fine, and I don't find myself clicking more than once on any link. The scroll button, however, is terrible. It jumps around and it is not smooth at all. I now find myself pulling the sliders at the edge of the screen instead. The accuracy of the pointer is good, but not excellent. Battery life is fine - I haven't replaced them in over 45 days. It is comfortable to use. They use the same case as the other models with the mute button in the center, so my nice carbon-fiber looking mouse has this mute symbol in the middle of it that makes no sense at all to have there. Overall, Nexus seems to be a cheap Chinese-made mouse, with some improved noise reduction technology that has caused issues in functionality elsewhere. There will be improvements as time goes on with new models (hopefully) since $30 is now considered a high-end mouse, and it at least has to function as well as the typical, noisy mouse.

My favorite computer mouse, BUT
I am one of those people that likes all of my devices to be as silent as possible. I was overjoyed when I found this mouse, and had it arrive in the mail. It was exactly what I wanted, with its sleek design and silent nature.Sadly, after a few months of daily use, it stopped responding. I'm extremely gentle with my electronic devices, so I am certain I did not break physically break the button. I researched for hours trying to rescue the mouse and had no luck. I tried resetting drivers, trying multiple computers, changing batteries...nothing.I personally believe that those of us who love having silent peripherals are better off waiting for touch mouse technology to improve, rather than hoping the 1 or 2 manufacturers of silent click mice improve their products.

Super Quiet!
The best part about the mouse is not having to hear the clicking sounds. I went to every room and just started clicking rapidly and I would have to get about 1-2 feet within someone before they could hear a faint tapping noise. I don't get complaints anymore when using this mouse at night which is what I wanted it for.I haven't had any issues with tracking or with the mouse not registering clicks. I still keep a full sized mouse on my desk for when loud clicking noises aren't a problem since the small form-factor is uncomfortable for large hands for extended usage. The size is roughly identical to a Logitech m505 even though it fit my hand better.I've had this mouse since Feb' 2012 and the silence is worth it. I fixed the scrolling issue in the first month or so of buying the mouse by taking it apart and cleaning some grime (lubricant?) off the wheel. It took a couple of attempts before it went away. It's been over two years and I haven't had the scroll jumping again.

In this case Silent is not Golden
When I first received my Nexus Wireless Carbon Silent Mouse SM-9000C it was a joy to use. It truly was the most silent (not totally noiseless but close) mouse I have every used. It's responsiveness was every bit the equal of any mouse I've experienced to date. However it wasn't more than about 3 weeks had gone by when the scroll wheel started acting up. I would scroll down it but it would randomly move up, I would go up and it would randomly go down. The buttons have continued to work great but the scroll wheel has now become totally useless, I basically have to scroll 3 to 4 times in the desired direction while experiencing constant page gyrations to get to where I want to go. This is now the second one I've had, same problem with the first one (at about the same time, 3-4 weeks).I will contact the manufacture to see if they have a solution, but until such time that a fix can be found I would avoid this mouse.

Construction could be better.
The first one of these I purchased developed a rusty battery terminal and would not shut off automatically. This led to high battery usage. The company let me send it back for a replacement. The replacement does shut off automatically but is not silent. It has an audible click on the left mouse button. I do think a silent mouse is a really great idea, especially for recording studios. They just need to work some of the bugs out of the design.

Scroll wheel does not work right
I have been using this mouse for the last 30 days or so. It worked fine for about 3 weeks and then the scroll wheel started acting up. I scroll down and it scrolls up, in a random fashion. This mouse is not completely silent. You can definitely hear clicking, just at a reduced volume. It's still nice to have an almost quiet mouse, but the broken scroll wheel makes it useless. Try something else.

Nexus SM-9000c
This is a great little mouse with truly silent buttons. More than a month of constant use and no change in the performance. I am very pleased with the mouse overall. It was a little pricey and lacks a couple features I like about my MSFT Mobile Mouse 6000... but the silent button action is priceless.
