Does the job, but has some drawbacks
As stated in other reviews, there are maching oil residues on everything, making this product collect dirt before you open the box and as you're installing. You'll want to clean it. The fitment of the corners is not good and I was unable to improve the gaps, even with a truly square installation. My 30 year old fan cover had better assembly quality/tolerances. It is quieter in operation than my old shutters.

Exactly as described.
Would of been 5 stars but the shipping is a little screwy, partly my fault for ordering cheapest freight, but customer service was on top of it and straightened the order up pronto. The cover installs in a snap, rec. a second helper to hold it up for final mounting. When adjusting the spring tension start at the second loosest setting to ensure the flaps close when fan is off. Great product worth the price !

excellent quality shutter
Replaced shutter that came with my whole-house fan, after it came apart while the fan was on and badly damaged. This shutter is vastly better in all around quality. Shipped and arrived via Fed Ex (I paid no extra shipping, so was surprised) in 3-4 days. A little expensive perhaps, but now I feel it was well worth it, even though I had to re-size the hole for a 30x30 from the old 29x32 "oddball" size shutter!

Poor fitting corners and covered in oil and dust.
I bought the exact same product elsewhere and returned it. None of the corners fit well, and the unit was smattered with oil and coated in industrial cutter dust. Mechanically worked fine but there was no attention to detail when it came to appearance. Haven't they heard of quality control?
