This is a heart breaking book, it will stay with you for along time.
My heart broke for what you suffered by your father. It really makes me sick that he could do thosethings to his daughter, but the worst is to bring all those horrible monsters in to do what ever theywanted to you. I wanted to go inside the book & get you out of there. I was mad that your Motherknew about things & she did not help. How could she live with her self knowing what was happeningto you & not care enough to help you. I do not know how one goes on after a life of pure hell. I hope youare alright now, & that the rest of your life is nothing but happiness. This was such a hard book to read.I ordered another book to read but not like this as it is too much in my mind that there are so many reallive monsters out there that think nothing of do horrible things to children. What goes through there mindas they are doing these things & after. I hate them all. I hope they all rote in hell. You are so amazingto have survived everything that you went through.

Well written
As a survivor, I must say this is a well written story. It isn't sugar coated. This is a retelling by an adult that bares their childhood's soul. I've told my own story to a few people (including my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time it was happening and came to an end) and I wholeheartedly agree with the authors statement of we can't live in the past. It can't be changed. We only hold power over our now and our future. Kudos to all of those brave enough to share their stories!

No Gory Details
It's a horrific story with a happy ending. Hard to imagine a child going through this ordeal and a father doing that to his child. For people interested in the subject, but have difficulty reading the gory details, this book is for you. Written as if the victim is telling you firsthand. I will read more by her.

Sick Dad
I have already read 'Dirty Little Dog' by Kate Skylark and given it a full five stars for its graphically honest and shocking facts. This is another very creepy story told by Skylark, as related to her by the victim. It is made all the more horrific when you know that this is a true story about a ten year-old girl's experiences. Although never sexually abused myself, Skylark's well-written account made it easy to share this innocent child's repugnance and to be hateful of the father who groomed her to love and adore him for most of her early childhood. His betrayal as a normal dad, and her gradual realisation that her father was a monster, is something Skylark wants everyone to be privvy to, with the hope that this hidden scourge of men in society will be wiped out. Read this book and be duly jolted and outraged. It's hard to stomach but the world needs to know.

Boring
This is a short book on an extremely important subject, especially to social workers (like myself). I'm assuming the author is based in England because the book describes, in limited detail, describes an English case. It may just be me, but I really have no interest in issues that occur in England. I'm only interested in socio-cultural problems in the United States. This was also a very short book. I read it in one sitting within about 2 hours. There is no in-depth analysis or much of a back story.

Daddy's Wicked Parties, Book Review
This book was disappointing in the way the author presents the story. It is hard to imagine that anyone going through such horrible abuse would show or feel no emotion about what was happening to them. Even if this young girl thought what was happening to her was okay and normal, she would still have some sort of emotions and feelings, and thoughts about it rather than an blank emotional field throughout her entire life. It would be nice to think that the author will improve as she writes more books and hopefully she will realize that to bring the readers in she must show the life of these girls through the girls eyes and not just her own. It is not enough to just tell a story without being able to put each reader in the girl's personal life.

Short, sad and well written
This book it pretty short. More like a novella, really. As is the case with all of these books, the story is beyond tragic. What amazes me, is how does the author find all of the people she writes about? Im not saying that the books are fictional, but do they come to her or does she find them? Is England the paedophile capital of the world?

Short and easy read-yet a hard read as well.
Kate Skylark's books are relatively short and she works together with other people; to help them tell their own stories about their experiences. I read her first book 'Dirty Little Dog' and that was really very good. Obviously, the subject matter in this series is difficult, however there was a really uplifting end to book 1. This second book I didn't enjoy reading as much as it seemed more uncomfortable. I have read many harrowing stories before-I think it depends how many you've read in a row before-perhaps I needed to take a break and read about a different subject-or a fiction one-for a change.Apparently Kate Skylark is also a victim of abuse. She tells us this and that's why she understands the need to tell your story, to get it out. She understands the victims' reasons for telling, so they get the feeling it's not just them, they're not alone. Her 'co-author' for this book, Lucy, is 10 as she starts to tell her tale from back then. All this happened over 30 years ago. This is a brave re-telling and is quick and easy to read through. So sad that people have to go through these awful things. The author provides a donation to the NSPCC for every book sold.

Bit too short
I read this book in a couple of hours, it was very upsetting but you had to keep reading in the hope that all will end well.My only criticism is the book is too short, I prefer to read thicker books and I found this book too simple and easy, if you know what I mean. Almost as though is was written for a child.Don't get me wrong I did not want Lucy to go into minute details, but I felt there was no meat on the back.

Horrible insight insight a 'perverts paradise' as experienced by a very young girl
This was an awful story of a very young girl subjected to indecent sexual acts by her sickening pervert of a father. Prison is too good for people like this, they should be used as lab rats instead of animals and then disposed of. The story gave an insight into how the main character felt about her abuse and her abuser, and the others she met who suffered the same fate at the 'parties' and her misplaced loyalty towards her father, which eventually changed and brought about his demise. I wanted to step into the story and rescue her. Not a pleasant read.
