Heavy and shaky, with color aberrations
If you are willing to deal with manually focusing all of your shots without the benefit of image stabilization, then perhaps, this is not the worst lens on the planet. But then again who are we kidding? You are never going to take a stellar quality photo of anything moving with this big ungainly monster. If, however, you take still life from a far or you need a workout from dragging this behemoth about then you will need to make this addition you your camera repertoire!

Better than expected
Obviously this is an inexpensive lens, so expectations should be in keeping with that. Overall I am better impressed with the image quality, the only thing that really matters, than I had expected. The attached photo was taken at 1300 mm on a crop sensor camera, for an effective focal length of 2080 mm. This image is uncropped. It took a bit of tweaking in Photoshop and was converted to black-and-white. Sharpness is good, contrast was okay before adjustment. Well worth the 200 bucks.

Package is not useful.
I thought I was getting a good deal. Two tripods, the lens, memory card, cleaning supplies, etc. In reality, what I got is a lens that is very difficult to use. It requires you to manipulate manual features on the camera (Canon T7 for me) and is very temperamental. At best you get grainy zoomed pictures. At worst, you get nothing. The tripods don't help. They are not designed for the camera plus the heavy Opteka lens. This product represents a nice idea but is poor in its execution. It amounted to items that don't work packaged with items that are minimally useful. I would not recommend it.

this will not fit canon T3
If you try to focus the lens will fall off because the adaptor does not lock in place. It does not fit most cameras it claims to fit

Great for close ups of the moon, too much to us for landscapes.
It didnt have the diversity I thought. I wanted to be able to do landscapes as well as sky shots. It's just too strong of a lens for what I was looking for.
