UPDATE: Lasted 1 Summer & Fall
UPDATE: EVEN THOUGH THE WARRENTY said 6mths, a year later they still covered it. The customer service rep went through a bunch of trouble shooting on the phone. When that didn't work she sent me a free shipping label for them to fix or replace the unit f or free. THIS COMPANY STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. They sent me a new one and it works as intended. Thank you to the BirdX team........ORIGINAL MESSAGE: We bought this to keep birds away from our pool. It worked great for Summer & Fall of 2022. Brought it in for the winter so it wouldn't get damaged. It is April 16th, 2023 and I set it up outside and it won't work. I try resetting, looking at the trouble shooting part of the instructions (which leaves a lot to be desired). Nothing!! Warranty is only good for 6mths and this is an expensive product. I'll try calling the company Bird X, but can't believe this lasted only last Summer & Fall. If they actually help out, I'll update this posting.

Definitely Pleased
It worked wonderfully for us. We have 25 blueberry bushes planted fairly close together in one area in direct sunlight and the berries always grow; but in past years the birds ate 90% of them and we only got a few quarts. The birds (blue jays, black birds (with yellow and orange under their wings), robins, even crows) were there early in the morning when we got up and we would chase them away, but they kept coming back. Some of the birds (the blue jays) would even land on the bushes next to us last year when we were picking berries. But this year within a few days of setting up the Bird-X BirdXPeller Pro the birds started leaving. The last to leave were a few Robins (who must have been near deaf), but after a few weeks they left also.I set the unit up about 20 feet from the berries. I changed the predator prey calls twice during the season and I only had it turned on about half volume. We have about five acres, three quarters of it is treed, and I only set it loud enough to cover the cultivated acre. So the noise wasn't loud enough to bother our neighbour, but the birds heard it, as we hoped they would. We definitely are very pleased with the results. We filed a freezer with our berries this year.

Grackle relief with some caveats to help
I purchased this product about a week ago after my pool and pool deck we’re being used a dropping points for the grackles poop sacks…. Literally 10 to 20 of these a day. And while it worked, there were other things that contributed, since the grackles were already established with babies in a tree that were less than 10 feet from my fence and may be 30 feet from my pool, here are all the things I did and what I found that worked. Firstly this product specifically made for crackles doesn’t even need to be turned up more than 25% to work in my situation, I also didn’t want to drive my neighbors absolutely nuts. But what seemed to really contribute was I put out two plastic owls one plastic falcon and random snakes. And occasionally I have a crow that’s supposed to look dead that I put at the feet of the owl or the falcon only every now and then, I don’t leave it out too long. But another contributing factor was anytime I saw them in the tree I bought an air horn and a whistle and a bell like a dinner bell. The whistle was super loud but seemed to be the less effective of the three things but you could tell it irritated them. So when I go out I always do the whistle, the air horn which is a hand pump, so it never loses charge since you’re using your own physical pressing to make it go. The air horn probably works 25 to 50% of the time if I’m persistent to run them out of the tree. The dinner bell if I’m persistent works 40 to 60% of the time, if I use them both together it’s closer to 75 to 100% of the time I can run them out of the tree. So while I was out I would constantly if I saw them land in the tree I would immediately use those. I also run this device 24 seven even at night, figuring if they felt nervous at night sleeping maybe that would be good maybe they would decide not to nest there again or maybe they would even run away or at least stay away from my side of the area when they drop off their Poo sacks. In my case I said it on predators 1, 2 and 3. I also set it on distressed calls for grackles. For those that don’t know, grackles are a type of bird where their babies poo it comes out in a sack that can be carried away and dropped off elsewhere, often times if it’s dropped in the pool, it doesn’t fall apart and I can use my skimmer to skim it out but still the damage has been done you know that it’s dangerous and toxic. I have a covered deck which is where I keep the device running 24 seven. I also bought a highpowered light laser, some people reported success of running birds away with lasers that they think is a physical object, it never work not even once for me. It hasn’t come yet but I also bought one of those falcon kites with a pole that I’m gonna put on the side where it’s nearest to where the birds are nesting and let that fly around in the wind, anything that just makes them second guess or nervous make them less likely to nest there and while this season is basically almost done, I’ll be ready for next year next spring to put all the stuff out before they even nest.

Did not work for me
This is a nicely engineered and a solid bit of electronics. It works- and emits sounds - at up to a really irritating level. The features where you can vary sounds and timing work very well. It is just that for my application- pigeons roosting in my large metal shed, it does not work.It may work for you and your circumstance- but it does not work for me

Expensive, loud, and did not move the needle.
Makes the noise it promises, but had no effect. I was hoping if I spent enough money, this may work better tan just owls. But even with both this "machine" and the 21" owl, the pigeons kept coming back.Hope that helps.

I am dissatisfied with the unit since it clearly isn't waterproof and out a lot of money because it's past the warranty period.
Finally, a product that seems to work to repel the birds. After having it set up for several weeks there are still a few hanging around but the majority have left the area. They have nests and eggs and won't leave them. They are also much quieter than before. Perhaps next spring it will prevent any new ones coming around. I am using the unit for my back yard and the neighbor behind me who has problems with the front yard tree and bird poop on their vehicles. It is working for her too. So the unit does cover a large area as it states. I am satisfied with the results so far. I just need to get used to the audible sounds it emits. Hopefully, the birds won't. I would recommend it to others. An update: the unit is supposed to be waterproof. It is NOT. I made sure the gasket was in place properly and the door fully closed and latched. After a rain storm I had a lot of water in the unit and it no longer works. Very disappointed since it was expensive and supposed to be waterproof. However, the unit did work to remove most of the birds in the area.
