the Reckon Tactile transducer.
Hi Doowopbill here , Well this turned out to be what I hoped for when looking around on Amazon for a tactile transducer/chair shaker. At the time there were no Reviews on this unit so I took a chance and sent for it.Well it works great,it seems to work at some pritty low frequencies, some I read about on line seemed to work strongly at a particuar low frequencywhile other units hade an affect thru most of the lower range.I thought the Reckhorn hade the best over all affect with Movie soundtracks,I played the movie Earthquake from the 70s,it hade a low freq-track built in for the earthquake senes, also, I played the asterod field sene from the third Episode of STARWARS,Both sounded Great, pritty much like I remembered from the Theaters sound system at the Movie house. I did order one more of these unitsand installed it under my easychair aswell, I'll probablly do the other chair in there later.I highly recommend the Reckhorn...

These things are amazing. I built a hard wood racing rig that doesn't move at all and use iracing with simvibe and it feels great till my amp died. For the price im vary surprised how well they have worked out.8/19/15 Update got a new amp that cost less then my old amp but it had good reviews and these transducers sound even better. You can even use them as normal speakers. Just know that the bass well shake ALOT so i made a profile for using them for simvibe and another as normal speakers. I hadn't own a set of speakers in over 10 years. I always own a top end gaming headset but at times when i want to share a vid or music with my wife we have to share the headset. But no longer with these and an amp and computer power supply.I recommend PN4.520D amp to go with this transducer.

They shake rattle and roll.
I currently have 2 instead I'm my dual seat recliner. I wish I could have put them under my seat instead of on the back of the recliner but the design prevented me from doing it.It's great being able to feel grenades and explosions going off on my games or feeling dinosaurs moving in Jurassic Park. It shakes the chair without shaking my floors so it won't disturb the neighbors.Highly recommended for the price. I had to turn my amp down to half way because it was shaking too much.

I should have bought this years ago!
What an incredibly powerful device! It adds a hard thunderous base that the home theater subwoofer was lacking. Before selecting a final mounting location, try different areas for the best arrangement in your home. For our living room, the old oak hardwood floors was the best. I purchased the Pyle PFA300 90-Watt amp to power the device. It turns out that my home AV subwoofer out jack is not an amplified connection, I found out that most are not. Do yourself a favor and buy this Bass Shaker, you will be absolutely impressed. By the way, I would imagine that this would do impressively well in a vehicle too.

Excellent addition to a system with an existing subwoofer
Great concept, and these have been around a while. I have a sub, but one of the things that it lacked was the ability to really give wall-shaking bass reproduction. Without wanting to buy a sub that took up a huge amount of room, I instantly thought back to the days when I installed car audio systems, and transducers were new to the market. I bought a pair back then for my vehicle, and they performed amazingly well. So fast-forward to today and my home system, I decided to see if these were still kicking around. Sure enough, they are and I was excited about getting a pair. I chose these based on price and reviews from others.Installation is easy: 3 screws and it's mounted. They come with some very long screws, so if you're installing this under a chair, obviously be careful that the chair is thick enough that you won't get a very unpleasant surprise when you sit down. I went with some of my own screws, which were 1". I bought a somewhat inexpensive amp for this (a Pyle 2x75W), twisted some speaker wire together and ran it underneath my computer chair where the bass shakers are mounted. Couple of RCA Y-connectors to tie into the audio out from my PC, and BAM! All done. The difference is AMAZING. I have a fairly OK powered sub, a Yamaha YST-SW012 8". But when it's coupled with these... forget about it. The bass literally kicks you in your pants. When the frequencies are within range of this, any punchy kick drums are felt rather than heard. Even when the music exceeds the strong band of frequencies the bass shakers shine with, they still add extra feeling to the bass the sub is producing. So why 5 stars? Well, these really shine within the resonant frequencies that it can reproduce. Outside of that band, it drops of very rapidly. The bad news is - that band is pretty narrow. My quick and dirty experiment was with sine waves that started at 5Hz and sweep up to 100Hz. These start to kick in and are barely noticeable around 50Hz. They resonate the strongest around 60Hz. At this point it starts to drop off rapidly, such that around 80Hz you can feel them a little bit, and by 100Hz their range is effectively exceeded. Now - this is purely *MY* setup, where they are mounted to my office chair. Their range may extend well beyond that if these are tied to a wooden floor, for instance. Unfortunately my floor is not wooden, but is concrete, and I don't even think it's worth it to try to mount these to a concrete floor. I am highly skeptical that a pair of transducers powered by 75 watts of energy are going to vibrate thousands of pounds of solid concrete poured to a depth of 4". These tied to a wooden floor, however, might perform a hell of a lot better than mounted to a chair, so your mileage may vary. That said, I would buy them all over again given the choice. The beauty of these things is that if you're in an apartment, these mounted to chairs would be perfect to avoid the managers knocking on your door, because they don't produce sound that travels through walls. Obviously I would NOT mount them to the floor of an apartment though... as you'd be turning your floor into someone's ceiling subwoofer. But if you're like me, and want that extra punch out of their system without having to invest in a huge sub and the amp to power it (and more than likely the cops being called on you for disturbing the peace), then BUY THESE! Seriously, they are worth it. For under $200 (two of these + a cheap amp) you can have yourself a *very* exciting system.

I have been running Aura's in a sim rig and in my theater room but tried these on a whim during a sale when I decided to run the sim rig in chassi+extensions mode (using these for seat and pedal). HOLY CRAP! These things are sooo much better than the Aura's I'm running! They seem to be far more efficient and throw a lot more vibration at lower power/volume and they also seem to be more dynamic/quicker when running one of these on a left channel and an Aura on the right channel off the same amp for comparison. I really wish I knew about these before I dropped the cash on so many Auras....especially when they're both the same price. Hands down the best bang for the buck in the transducer arena. Why these aren't more well known/popular is beyond me!
