A wonderful change of pace from Claire Kingsley
This is the 23rd book that I've read by this author and its close to being one of her best, IMO. The story starts out a little rough with a very unlikely male character who seems to be a misogynistic narcissist. He's surly and standoffish and I wondered how in the world was CK going to evolve this guy! But of course she was able to do it so seemlessly

Kendra is a SAINT
Yeesh. This started as a DNF for me. Multiple times. So. Many. Times. People kept saying “stick it out!” and “Trust Claire” (which I always do, but I wholeheartedly felt Weston was irredeemable). So after many failed attempts, I pushed through and finish the book. And I am glad I did.Weston is a jerk. There I said it. At the beginning of the book, he is a closed off arrogant man whore. He’s a well renowned boob job surgeon, who needs a place to stay as he is doing a full remodel of this home. Kendra is looking for a roommate, and has been plagued with only finding horrible candidates. Her brother went to school with Weston, and suggest him as a temporary roommate to help both of them out. The very first day she meets him, he has a stripper that he brought home with him the night before. His only interactions with Kendra are to insult her and her appearance. Kendra is an absolute angel, because she just takes all the vitriol he spits at her and keeps on smiling. After he is hospitalized from a car accident, she sits at his bedside for days. Even though their last interaction before the accident was horrendous, and he said he was moving out, she takes him home and helps him recuperate. That was the turning point in their relationship. He was truly alone, as he’s closed himself off from everyone and never allowed anyone to get close. Kendra is relentless, and keeps taking care of him. From this point on the story was great. I loved watching their relationship unfold, and watching Weston thaw out his frozen heart. Obviously there’s a conflict, and Weston has to own up to being a jerk. In the end they get a hard fought HEA, and they are adorable together. So, after forcing myself to finish, I agree I loved him in the end. That being said I never would have given him a chance based on who he was at the beginning. Frankly if I ever reread it again, I’ll probably skip the beginning just because he is such a douche and I still find it difficult to believe Kendra could look beyond that so easily.

Love
I'm really loving this series. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Weston. But he really was so different once his walls got broken down. Kendra is the best. I really love her.

Enjoyable
I absolutely love the book references the characters make! When it starts you want to hate the male lead but know there is way more depth. It was a quick and easy read and quite enjoyable in the end. Second in the series but I don't think you would have to read the first one to understand this one

Great!!
Another solid book in the series. Truly great. Weston is a bit of an @ss and I felt like his groveling and apologies were a little subpar. But the book and story was still great! Consider yourself Followed, Claire kingsley!

Really enjoyed this book
I loved Weston & Kendra. I loved the slow getting to know his personality, Kendra sweetness & getting past his barriers. The build-up to love & HEA. Nice flow to the story & the interesting ending with his medical practice. Such a good read. My favorite so far in Book Boyfriend series.

Grumpy/ Sunshine, close proximity
This is how I would describe this book. Weston is your broken, closed off A$$hole and Kendra is the selfless, big hearted, sunshine. At least that's how I see it. Kendra quits her job as an editor and starts freelancing. Without a steady income, she decides to take in a roommate. Her brother helps her out by suggesting his colleague, Weston, because he needs a place to stay temporarily until renovations are completed on his home. Kendra didn't get all the details from her brother because she was out of town at a conference. When she arrives home she thinks her roommate is a woman who comes out of the bedroom...only that woman is Weston's hookup. He's a complete jerk to Kendra. He's closed off and doesn't talk much and when he does it's insulting. Things change tho and that's when we find out why he is the way he is. I don't want to ruin the whole story so I'll stop here. This is a wonderful story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gave me the John Hughes 1980's Feel: Loved It!
This is by far my favorite story by this author! All of her works are amazing but this was the story that I will read again. The story starts out with Kendra coming home from a business trip to her home and having coffee with her “new roommate” only to find out that she is the one night stand of her real roommate: Weston. The hate-to-lovers aspect of this story was great and I really loved the push and pull between the characters and their new developing feelings.Kendra is the ultimate woman that one would want as a best friend. She is sweet, sassy, loyal, caring and amazingly multifaceted. Weston is an alpha male who has been hurt in the past and doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions and feelings. He is seen in the story and by others as uncaring and cold but I truly believe that he was not taught how to be open and there for comes off as disinterested or harsh. The humor between the characters, the secondary characters, the plot and the development of this story really added to the richness. I read the story and then sat and thought about it for a while. There was something about this story that just hit all the right buttons. I could not put a finger on it until last night, lying in bed, I had a light bulb moment. This is the perfect 1980’s John Hughes movie material. It has the main female character (Kendra) that is sassy, strong, but a bit unsure of her future; the alpha male (Weston) who is a bit of a jerk and disliked in the first half of the story. It has the best friend who is the background heart of the story and keeps the heart and positivity flowing. It has all the amazing secondary characters that add depth and great lines. And it as the happy ever after that we all expect. I don’t know, maybe it is just me, but I feel like if John Hughes was still alive this is just the story he would make into a blockbuster romantic movie.

Just perfect
Oh wow, I absolutely adored this book even though I initially thought I'd find Weston annoying. But Kendra managed to dig out the essence & unearth the 'gold' in him and this wasjust the perfect romance I didn't want to end. It was for me the perfect blend of great dialogue and chemistry, wonderful sex scenes and understated love which touched my heart. So this book has joined the collection of my very favourite romances.I generally don't like writing reviews as I prefer to just score a book for how it makes me feel but just had to say a bit about this one as it touched my heart so much. Can't wait to read another book now by the same author.

Moving in forever!
Kendra needs a roommate to help with bills whilst her new business gets off the ground. When her brother Caleb, suggests someone from the hospital he works at, Kendra doesn't expect it to be a man! Weston is having his house remodelled and he's fed up of living in hotels so Kendra's house is a great solution. When Weston is in an accident, he doesn't expect Kendra to drop everything and look after him. They start to see each other in a different way . This was a great read with characters that you cheered for!

This hits you in all the feels!
I’ve got a particular weakness for the enemies to lovers troupe, and this one is up there for me. It was the perfect enemies to lovers romance which made me straight up swoon with a little bit of added steam to tie it off nicely! It hooked me so much I stayed up all night so I could finish it in one sitting!

Fantastic Enemies to Lovers Story
Cocky Roommate is the second book in the Book Boyfriend series and as an enemies to lovers story it totally ticks all the right boxes. Weston is a prime example of a cocky, arrogant a**hole and I loved him. Can't wait to read book 3 in the series Hot Single Dad.
