I got this as a gift for my dad. He absolutely LOVED them! He kept raving about how great they are.

This is NOT the grape licorice of your childhood. It does taste like grape, but is the consistency of salt water taffy. You can’t even separate the strands, they just stretch and break. The color is a purplish gray. Yuck!

I wish I would have read the Reviews!This licorice is GROSS! Not the licorice in the displayed photo. I was looking for the dark purple, grape licorice that we used to get at the roller skating rinks! That's what the photo looks like.What I received was a lavender color licorice. It falls apart in your hands and tastes disgustingly sweet.

Didn’t have much of a grape flavor

The grape flavor was actually pretty good, not the best I have had but it was very slightly tart instead of full on sweet. It was actually TOO fresh, I needed to leave the bag open to stale it up a bit - the only part that sucked was the packaging just wanted to tear open and then keep tearing open.

Brought me back to my youth.

I received this odd lavender/silver/grey licorice that has a really odd taste like a chalky burnt cream taste with an unpleasant artificial grape aftertaste and weird texture it makes my gums burn. I'm seriously feeling really ill my stomach is hurting I'm having hot flashes and sweating and I'm starting to see spots, I may go to the emergency room, I will report back later if I survive.

My son loved his Christmas gift. Very surprised to get it.
