Awesome behind the scenes look!
I've always liked this set, I had the videos as long as I can remember so it only made sense to get these on dvd. The studio stuff is funny but very inspirational to musicians (for back then). A must for early Metallica fans!

The good ole days of Metallica!
I stopped listening to new Metallica music January 17th, 2001 when Jason Newsted left the band. This video lets me enjoy the band I once loved and now, can't even tolerate. Without Jason, it's just not Metallica!

best music video ever
all the reviews point to "some kind of monster". good, but cant hold a candle to this. the making of, and tour of, one of the greatest albums ever. i'm not going to go on, just see it and feel it. hell you even have Spinal Tap jump in on vol.2 in regards to the "Black Album". Newsted's last great hurrah.

Fantastic
A great movie that shows the production and touring for Metallica's Black Album. It also provides a great overview of the recording & production process of making an album, and shows off Metallica behind the scenes. A must have for any Metallica fan.

I Brought this a few years ago on VHS and was stunned by it, you would think looking at it that its your basic Metallica story but believe me its not, true to say its a story of sorts but it comes with music, chat and general information that only the truest of fans would know about, having been a 'tallica fan since 1984 and having seen them live no less than 18 times id like to think i know a little about them but if you dont and you want to know what they are like, then this is for you, you can see them live, in the studio, having a laugh and generally messing around, possibly Metallica at their best or at least up to their best, after this it was a slow decline...but dont let that change your mind, you will see them as they should be remembered. Buy it and see what the best is all about.I can hear Mr Hetfield now....."you want some more" You should know what i mean...Buy it!!!

Essential for Metallica fans-old and new.
I first saw this (on VHS!) upon it's release, and at the time it was the first 'behind closed doors' look at the mechanics and machinery of a band about to embark on their assault of the mainstream charts. From recording to finally touring, this is a fascinating look at the juggernaut that Metallica became, and how their most successful album (over 15 million to date) came into being. It's a pity the DVD is only available on region 1, but in my opinion, is worth getting a multi region player for! Thoroughly recommended.

A year and a half.
This is an awsome documentary about metallica from the recording process of the classic black album leading up to their world of touring. It is brilliant for any die hard fan. If you have only started to get into this awesome band then this is not a buy for you, but if you want to see a more in depth view on metallicas life then you will definetly enjoy this. It kicks ass what more can i say?...
