a must to install a double din in the E83 BMW X3. You loose that top storage compartment but its worth it. the Finish is very close to the original material. I just hope it lasts. It does seem easy to scratch tho. A thing to look out for: You may have what amounts to "sticky keys" when you relocate your AC/heat control to the new location. The kit comes with a new bezel and I needed a dremel with a sanding roll to smooth out some keys and some openings so the keys slide smooth. Not the end of the world but it needs to be said. and its why it didn't get 5 stars. I didn't get a wiring diagram for the steering wheel controls but a quick email to Scosche resolved that no problem.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE A DSP SOUND SYSTEM! THIS PRODUCT WILL NOT WORK! After countless hours of trying to get this kit to work with my vehicle (2007 BMW e83 X3), Scosche, the manufacturer of this kit, acknowledged that they knew it would not work with these systems, but didn’t bother to put that in the description of their product. No warning at all. No disclaimer. Not on Amazon, or their own company product website. First: They left out an entire wiring harness. When I called them, they actually said “oh. Well that’s just for steering wheel audio system control, so you can just use your stereo buttons on your head unit.” No... The whole point of the kit is to integrate an aftermarket stereo with the factory steering wheel audio controls, AND mount the new stereo. Second: After following the instructions EXACTLY, regarding wiring, connection, and CUTTING OUT PART OF THE DASHBOARD SUPPORT WITH A HACKSAW, I had no sound! I know, before you all say it - yes, I should have tested the wiring before I cut the dashboard. That’s my bad. I had a reasonable expectation that this product would work as intended. Unfortunately, I made a mistake I will never make again. Another call to Scosche. After some emailing back and forth, the agent asks if I have the DSP system (this is indicated on the amplifier, located in the cargo area, left side, behind the carpet trim panel, near the wheel well). I said yes. MOST of these vehicles have either the mid-grade or better sound system, which is an amplified system with DSP. The agent writes back and tells me that the kit will NOT work with this system, and I should call Crutchfield and see if they have a kit or solution. Wait. I spent over $100.00 on this thing because you SAID it would work with my vehicle. Now you’re telling me I can’t return it because I’ve spliced the wires, and should now be expected to go to another company and spend more money? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will never buy another Scosche product again. I invest a great deal of money and time in my vehicles, and I expect a product to work as it is intended or promised. Scosche is aware that the product won’t work, yet made no attempt to warn consumers. This is FALSE ADVERTISING! Stay away unless you want a bad headache, and a nightmare. PS: I only gave one star because I HAD to in order to get this to post. They don’t even deserve THAT.

The dash kit is great but you need to be prepared to make some substantial permanent modifications to the structure. Finish is very close to OEM but not a perfect match. Wiring was easy to match to the OEM and the Aftermarket stereo. Only substantial issue is the steering wheel adapter doesn't allow you to retain use of the talk button (one with the face on it). The volume and mode/channel buttons work but you can't use voice activation from the steering wheel any more. Rather disappointed with this. Talked with Scosche tech and they basically said, just push the button on your phone or radio. If that function isn't a concern for you, this kit is nice. If you are buying a nice aftermarket radio with lots of voice activated features, you'll have to look away from the road to find the button on the head unit or find another solution.

The kit fit great. The button holes for the air conditioner relocation had to be modified with a file to keep buttons from sticking. Thete were no instructions on how to program or setup the steering wheel control adapter. Otherwise, a solid piece.

GREAT PRODUCT .. I ONLY HAD TROUBLE WITH THE WIRING AND CONTACTED CORPORATE AND AFTER A DAY OF THEM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT MY ISSUE, THEY FINALLY SAID TO JUST RETURN PRODUCT FOR A REFUND...

Did what I needed it to do. Wish it had adjustable size.

lo que no me gusto es que las marcas de corte en el tablero no son muy claras hay que cortar un par de soportes y eso no los marcan pero de ahí en fuera muy bien
