Good standing desk
This is a very reasonably priced alternative to a standing desk. The unit was relatively easy to assemble, and the hand crank assembly operates smoothly. I went this route, rather than the much more expensive powered desk route, because of two reasons. First, I could literally buy two of these for about the same price as a motorized 60" standing desk, and because motors are the first thing to fail on a powered device. I am not so feeble as to need the desk motorized, though the motorized desks are probably much faster to raise and lower. Overall, the workmanship is good. The leg assembly is very sturdy, which is what I was looking for, as I have to support a heavy triple monitor stand with three 26" desktop monitors attached to it. The supporting structure for the table top distributes load well, and there is no sagging, or other sign that the desk cannot support the weight. They offer cable routing and power options, but I long ago discovered heavy duty velcro, and I just attached a velcro strip to the back of two surge bars, and mounted one left and one right onto the frame. That allows all my cables to be bundled, and only a couple of cables need to accommodate the raising and lowering function. This is a very tall standing desk. I am 6'4" tall, and at max height, it is almost too high to work at when I am standing. I actually have to lower it a bit from the top position. When I ran all the cables, I raised it to max height to make sure that the surge bar power cables had enough slack, and found that I could comfortably sit on the floor under it, with a couple of inches to spare, to tie up and route cables. This would be a good desk for anyone of any height, from about 5 feet to over 6.5 feet. It has a very wide range, and can be adjusted anywhere within the range.

This desk doesn't disappoint!
I'm thrilled with this new desk, but keep in mind that I've had it for less than a week. It arrived a week earlier than I expected and it was in great shape. I received one of three boxes within two days of ordering the desk and didn't know where the other two boxes were in shipping so emailed Amazon. I received an email response within five minutes from the Stand Up Desk Store - they have provided excellent customer service so far. About the desk: I ordered the white glossy top with charcoal base - sleek, simple, and surprisingly sturdy. I honestly didn't know what to expect at this affordable price point, but I am extremely pleased with the quality of this desk so far. I work at a nonprofit and purchasing a pricier electric desk was out of the question. I don't agree with the other reviewer that this desk is a step down from IKEA products. I was at IKEA this weekend to hunt for some storage drawers that could accompany this desk and was thinking to myself that my desk was better made and sturdier than IKEA's similarly priced desks. Their new electric desk was $750 and the desk top was that boring matte white. It took less than a hour to assemble this desk (not by me as I'm not handy at all but by my engineer family member) and we encountered no issues whatsoever assembling it. So far, I stand the first part of the morning and lower the desk late morning, raise it for first part of afternoon and sit last part of the afternoon. The crank is smooth and it just takes a minute to lower/raise. For taller folks out there, I recommend having someone measure the distance from the floor to your elbow at 90 degrees to make sure this desk will work for you. (My PT recommended that I get a desk that allows my elbows to rest on the desk at about a 90 degree angle.) That distance for me is ~ 44". The maximum height of this desk is 45.25" height of this desk, so it works great for me. From my research, the 45.25" max height of this desk is one of the taller ones out there. I'm going to give it another month to see how the desk holds up, but right now, I like it so much that I'm considering purchasing another one for my house as I telecommute some days.

End Result is Good. But getting There tough.
I ordered four of these for the office. As a guy who just assembled four of these over the weekend here's the pluses and minuses. Overall solid materials...legs are sturdy. Top is decent and looks great with high gloss. Some risk of scratching but it looks good. Engineering and manufacturing problems: -Toes above castors are very hard to put in . You will need a hammer. Best to use a rubber hammer as a regular might break. -Main crossbar on primary desk has 80% mis-drilled holes. There are 16 large nuts on each side. You will only get a handful of these in due to poor threading/sizing of the mis-drilled holes. 16 a side is way overkill so you probably don't need all of them. -Side crossbars have mis-sized nuts for the center. This caused me go go through the top of the desk with the first one. Just doing the four corner nuts is probably just fine and also necessary (see below) -Crank has a cross tension bar to crank each side of the desk. These are just slip on brackets and I can easily see this slipping off. So if one side starts going up and not the other be sure to stop...take off the top and reconnect. -One of the desks was delivered damaged. It was primarily on the leg so the damage was done pre-boxing. So expect some quality assurance issues. -You will need a small monkey wrench. The one with the kit is pretty bad. HAVING said all that I have to say the responsiveness for getting replacement parts is excellent. +1 Star.

This is a high quality desk that feels sturdy and provides plenty of space. Building the desk was fairly straightforward single-handed however a second person would help, and pay attention to the screw sizes as they sometimes look similar in the documentation. I took me around an hour to do. Once build the desk has a slightly higher than normal height at its lowest point, but this could be brought down by not using the caster wheels. Full height is more than enough and I don’t typically bring it up that high (I’m 5’9), it remains sturdy at this height. Metalwork and the desktop appear to be a high quality. The desktop is thick enough for basic mounting of monitor arms etc. If you’re looking for a manual standing desk of reasonable size I would recommend you consider this.

I was worried this desk might not be of the best quality, given how expensive some other sit/stand desks are. However, this seems like a really good quality product. Everything feels solid and the crank system is simple and effective. No concerns about it holding my monitors and laptop with ease. Simple and quick(ish, about 30 seconds) to put up/down. Very happy and would recommend. Also with it being my first sit/stand desk, I'm very happy with the whole experience, having been unsure exactly how often I'd stand before I bought it.

This is a brilliant desk. Fabulous quality for the money- really sturdy and BEAUTIFUL. I only have two CONS.... 1 is nothing to do with the product but is a frustrating aspect of the purchasing process- TNT delivery - they were utterly rubbish - took three attempts to get it despite me booking a delivery day online 2 is the fabulous gloss white desk top I have chosen. Believe me it is so beautiful BUT my cordless mouse doesn't work on it (I think another user reported this), so I have to cover the surface which kind of ruins the look. I could use a mouse mat. However, that's a bit of a design issue as I'm sure this desk is ordered by a lot of people who want it as a computer desk. Having said that, I'm not disappointed. It's great. Easy to assemble and you just feel the quality when you are putting it together. It cranks up and down nicely and doesn't feel like it is struggling at all - I think that is because the crank handle is at the side and cranks in line with the crank bar mechanism without having to make a 90 degree turn if the handle was at the front of the desk like a lot of models. The handle is also really good quality. My advice- just buy one? I have the charcoal base and white top and it looks the part! Post script- I have found out that I can buy a mouse that works on highly polished surfaces / glass - so I will get one of those and then I can reveal again my lovely glossy desktop.... so really only the delivery that was an issue..... :)) some time later - have a Logitech mouse now that works brilliantly on the gloss surface so no need to cover up its beauty now. I'm totally thrilled with this desk- it's a beautiful thing and it works! I'm speechless, it is so good. Best item I've ever bought on Amazon and I've bought a LOT! :)
