Gotta love good directions
This was a one-for-one replacement for one that died after 8 years. Followed the directions to scan the opener in and it worked easily.

Great Wireless Keyless Entry (WKE) But Tricky to Program
PLEASE READ MY UPDATE AT THE END OF THIS REVIEW:This wireless keyless entry (WKE) is great for all the reasons described by other reviewers. I installed it in 2014 and, although tricky to program my PIN, it worked flawlessly for four years. For that reason I award it with 5 stars. Perhaps I should award 4 stars because of the programming frustration.I recently (2018) had to change the batteries. However, I again found it tricky to reprogram my PIN (i.e., transfer the PIN from my car remote to the WKE). I tried many times for two days and found that the following procedure worked for me. Although it might not be necessary, I suggest starting by clearing the WKE memory and checking the WKE battery strengths.1. Clear the WKE memory by removing the old batteries.2. Test the old batteries. Replace them with new batteries if you think the old batteries are weak.3. Press and HOLD the ENTER button on the WKE until the following steps are completed.4. While continuing to hold the ENTER button, install the batteries.5. Ensure the battery polarities (+ & -) match the designations on the WKE.6. Release the ENTER button. At this point you may pause before continuing with the programming steps.Be sure to have your transmitter (car remote) on hand. If you think your transmitter battery is weak, install a new battery. Also have your PIN ready to enter in the WKE. If you cleared the WKE memory, you can use a new PIN or reuse your old PIN.Have the following steps well in mind as you must perform them quickly and in the listed order. Some reviewers say 10 seconds. Others say 60 seconds. The written instructions simply say “immediately.” I suggest 10 seconds or as quickly as possible.1. Press and hold the 3 button for about 3 seconds. (The timing does not seem to be critical.)2. Immediately TOUCH the TOP END of the transmitter to the 2 & 3 buttons on the WKE. (Note: The instructions say hold the transmitter very close to the 5 & 6 buttons. I had to actually TOUCH the transmitter to the 2 & 3 buttons.3. Press and HOLD the transmitter button (i.e., the one you use to operate the door).4. While TOUCHING the transmitter to the WKE and continuing to HOLD the transmitter button, move the transmitter SLOWLY down the WKE until it reaches the 8 & 9 buttons.5. When the LED lights flash on the WKE, release the transmitter button.6. Immediately enter your 4-digit PIN in the WKE. (I was able to reuse my old PIN.)7. Immediately press and release the ENTER button on the WKE TWO TIMES. (Note: The instructions indicate ONE TIME.)8. This should complete the programming.9. Test the WKE by entering your PIN and pressing the ENTER button.10. If the WKE doesn’t operate the door, I suggest trying a variation of the above steps (e.g., by working faster or by touching the transmitter to a different place on the WKE). Clearing the WKE memory might not be necessary between programming attempts.IMPORTANT UPDATE (28 MAY 2018):A few days after writing the above review, my old WKE stopped working. I ordered a new WKE. I WAS ABLE TO PROGRAM THE NEW WKE EASILY AND IMMEDIATELY. I now suspect my old WKE was defective or an earlier version that was difficult to program . I am completely satisfied with my new WKE as I had no problem programming my PIN.Never-the-less, I'm leaving my entire review here as it might be helpful to someone who finds their WKE difficult to program.

Got it working again by slamming it hard: It's very touchy.
I have two of these keypads. The first one stopped working, and I could not get it to work... the two center led's would just blink immediately, or after pressing 3. They would only blink slowly... with no interaction from the working remote. This is after successfully clearing the memory using that specific procedure. I see other reviewers have that same issue, even with fresh batteries. So I ordered a second one, right here from amazon. That worked for a couple years. Last week that replacement exhibited the same behavior.I was about an hour into trying to fix it, and it was pretty clear it was a lost cause once again. Frustrating! I had the sudden impulse to slam it on the workbench. Hard. I did this two or three times. I was fully intending to break it, as I was sure it was junk. It was not a gentle tap, I put all my frustration into the motion which was part anger and part wishful thinking. One last time I reset the batteries, and held the number 3 button down. Well it worked instantly. Programming with the remote worked exactly as instructed, the very first time after my 'hard reset'.I can't say I'd advise this behavior as a matter of course. I'm just telling you what happened for me. I am pretty good at buttons, switches, levers, etc, and I can tell you it was NOT working as expected until I slammed the living daylights out of it.It's been working for a couple days now that this Marantec remote and I seem to have come to an agreement.

Better Than Expected
I like this replacement WKES because the cover actually slides up and down with ease (the old one was very stiff to move), was VERY easy to install, and was pretty easy to program (after a bit of trial and error and closely following the instructions, which were a bit obtuse (NOTE: you must act quickly once in program mode or run the risk of having to perform the same functions -- a lot).I also like that I could program BOTH garage doors (different code required for each), which we never knew we could do (the original was already programmed to open just a single garage door when we bought the house and we assumed that was how it worked -- and we were not provided with the instruction manual).I got this to replace the almost 7-year-old version of the exact model which had recently died (seldom used, but when I tried this week, it would not light up nor open/close garage door even with new batteries). We live in the desert and with temps reaching 115F in the summer, the builder had installed it directly in the sun, which may have been part of the problem -- and that the batteries had corroded and leaked.Marantec makes a quality garage door opener and this OEM WKES was perfect as a replacement.

Excellent OEM replacement
Super easy setup if you already have programmed remotes to use for programming.
