All the bells and whistles in an inexpensive package
Love this! It has EVERYTHING, and it all seems to work. MP3 line- in cord, USB charging port (both in that black strip on the lower front), indoor and outdoor temperature, EASY setup and operation with big buttons, ENORMOUS numbers on the clock face, EXCELLENT sound quality on the radio and CLEAR reception, and the BEST overhead projection I've ever seen. Now, I still can't use the last one because my eyesight is awful and my ceilings are high, but for normal eyesight, there's a lens adjustment that allows you to make that projection extremely sharp. The directions are not only clear and well-written but also humorous! The outdoor temperature reading unit has to be installed within thirty feet of the radio, but it was a five-minute job to insert batteries and hang it. I protect units like that by drilling a hole in the back of an old plastic cup, pounding a nail into the wood with a smaller diameter than the hole, and hanging both the cup and the unit from the nail. I like having an alarm clock face with a strong, clear light, and this one does. I also like it that I can turn off the alarm clock by slapping ANY BUTTON other than Snooze on the top of the clock. No accuracy required. This clock is a handsome, solid, substantial unit, not one of those tiny, flimsy things that look like they'll break if you touch them and have a couple of minute, multipurpose function buttons that require you to have a degree from MIT before you can program the alarm. I haven't explored all the clock's features yet, but so far, it seems to do everything and anything that anyone could want: time, indoor and outdoor temperature, battery backup, play MP3's, charge a phone, listen to radio, project time, wake to radio or beep. This is definitely an item that enhances life. Nice job, Homedics

Great clock !
This clocks works well for us. It's very easy to set and setup. I like having the outside temperature projected along with time . My one and only complaint is that if you are use to sleeping in a dark room it does brighten the room up. You can dim and even turn off the clock it self but you can't dim the projector. It doubles great for a night light if you need added light during the night.

This one only last 6 months - boo!
We bought this in April after having the exact one for over 5 years. We'd been very satisfied with the first one but the sensor went out - hence the new one. Now we have a second one and in less than 6 months the sensor already went out and the outdoor temperature/projection is useless. I rise early and I loved knowing what the outside temperature is before I quickly dress to walk the dog. Not so now!

Perfect Time-Temp Projection Clock
FINALLY FOUND the perfect time & outdoor temperature projection clock. (Bonus: Radio and other features--very good , but not the reason we purchased) We returned 3 other clocks before this one "fit the bill". Others had fuzzy numbers, poor positioning features, etc. The HMDX Sleep Station focuses and positions very nicely. Some reviewers complain of it being too bright, and while it is true that the projected BLUE numbers are bright and large, they do not keep us awake. In fact we love that feature---it is easy to read ! It does not impact our sleep at all (its like a night light on the ceiling). Our old Oregon Scientific projection time/temp clock had "red" numbers, which were also very readable, but definitely less bright, if that is an issue. (After a few years, its outdoor sensor died, and the model had been discontinued). We have been doing without ever since because these clocks (the good ones) tend to be pricey. This HMDX Sleep Station is moderately priced and so far, works great!

Don't waste your money!
Very disappointed throughout with this unit. The laser light does not rotate 180 degrees so, unless you are placing the clock on a nightstand next to you, it's going to project UPSIDE DOWN. Because I have my clock across the room from my bed, the stupid clock can't accommodate this and displays the time/temperature the wrong way, so I had to turn off the laser. The other feature I mainly purchased this for was the remote temperature sensor but, after mounting this outside, the battery (a new one I had purchased) went dead in the first month. So I'm left with a clock radio that doesn't project and doesn't tell me the temperature. Worthless, don't waste your money.

Projected display is way too bright and oriented badly on the ceiling
The clock is handsome enough, the display numerals are delightfully large, the brightness of the clock face display can be adjusted, and it was the only one I could find that would project time and outdoor temperature simultaneously. With the clear instructions, it was easy to set up, including the outdoor temperature sensor.BUT, the projected display is bright enough to read in the daytime; at night it lights up the whole room so much that objects cast shadows from the light on the ceiling. Way, way too bright, and there is no way to adjust the brightness. The projected numerals will be in the correct orientation on the ceiling only if the clock is more or less at the bed's headboard. With the clock on a nightstand beside the bed, turned so that the display faces a sleeper, the digits on the ceiling are at least 90 degrees from desired orientation, and in our case closer to upside down than rightside up. A real pain to try to read upside down numbers when one is groggy in the middle of the night or in the morning before the first cup of coffee.Took a week to get the company to respond (incorrectly) to my emailed question and confirm that there is no way to dim or rotate the projected display; we are returning the clock after a week's trial.
