The components were well packaged and of good quality. Install was straightforward although I had to secure 2x4 mounting pads to the ceiling first due to a unique situation I had on the other side of the drywall. At first I thought it would be unneccessary to bridge a section of rope between the two ends as the directions indicate. But found out that it is essential for good operation and is important to get the length right so the nylon supppor straps don't slide out of desired position when you lift the kayak. I used a different piece of rope I had on hand for that step as can be seen in the photo but I feel there's adequate length of rope in the lift kit to cover that anyway.

I used this product to suspend several 50 lb kayaks (1 hoist per kayak) from the ceiling of my garage. The product is sturdy, easy to use and is, I believe, a safe (by which I mean the product is rated for 125 lbs, but is clearly engineered to hold more AND the brake prevents slippage).My only complaint is that the installation instructions were unclear on several important points such as how to string the ropes properly so the brake works and how long to cut the ropes, as such I had to do some rework to get things right.All in all, I recommend the product.

Arrived on time. Easy to install and now i have more floor space.
