Easy to read, detailed, and in-depth work
Fantastic academic-but-accessible research book on Twitch and live streaming. Diverse research methods; detailed history on rise of Twitch; insights into how streamers live/work; addresses problems around labor exploitation and content ownership. If you've watched a few streams, having a bit of interest in digital culture, and are slightly confused about streaming, this book will help ground your understanding and give you a larger context. If you're already deeply engaged with streaming or digital culture, then this could easily be a mentor text on how to conduct your own research in the field.Exceptional book. Memorable.

Great book! The go-to text on live streaming!
I absolutely recommend Taylor's Watch Me Play. It's smart, insightful, and amazingly well-researched. Live streaming is becoming an increasingly important part of gaming and online entertainment, and this is absolutely *the* go-to book for folks who want to study or just learn more about streaming. I'm a professor and I've used this book with doctoral students who are researching live streaming, gender, and gaming. It's been invaluable for their work!
