Fits my drain perfect, I think
The drain filter has been on my drain for only a few weeks, and I'm not folicly endowed, so not catching much hair yet. However, Something beneficial (I hope) appears to have happened. The new filter is curved slightly upward, while the permanent drain filter is curved slightly downward. I stepped on the new filter and felt a slight pop. On inspection, the new filter is now curved slightly downward, similar to the permanent drain. I can pop it back to it's original upward curve, but I'm sure it will eventually pop back to its new downward curve. So far I prefer the slight downward curve as it removes that slight hump from the new filter, it appears to fit the drain better, and I don't think it will impact the hair catching design. We'll see. Update: well, my next shower with the drain curve pointing down resulted in a much lower drain flow and the water in my shower would drain slowly. So, the drain works fine with the curve upward, but it's easy to step on and pop the curve downward which then interferes with the drainage. I'll keep using it as it fits my drain size perfectly, and hopefully it'll work out.

Elegant and Effective
I have very long hair (near knee length). I also have a brand new shower that I didn't want to clog up like the old one, nor need Draino or other drastic measures. This drain cover is -fabulous-. The pictures show it next to the drain and covering the drain. It fits the little depression perfectly and looks really nice, fitting in beautifully with the new bathroom fixtures. Even better, I accidentally stepped on it and mashed it flat and it's holding that shape without looking mangled, so now it doesn't graze my arches when I step too close. It is still possible for me to jostle it around but a tiny nudge gets it back in place. Note, I see a lot of questions on this: It is NOT attached. It just sits over your drain. The silicone edge helps it keep a little bit of a grip and also allows easy picking up to remove the hair it's caught. It catches hair really well. At least the longer ones. Thanks to trychotillomania I have hairs on my head in every length from stubble to knee length, and I can't be sure the shorter ones aren't getting through the holes. But it's been very simple to scoop off the loops of hair after a hair wash and toss them in the trash. This is a serious QoL purchase. Thanks, OXO!

Works better then standard drain
We have a aerobic septic tank, so I'm very careful what goes down the drain. Long hairs in particular like to wrap around the shaft of the aerator pump and cause premature failure from excess wear or resistance. Had to replace the pump when I moved in, cost 550$ from jet. The old one had hair wrapped around it and the shaft was bound tight - wasn't turning past certain position. Not saying it was the direct cause, but I can assume they added to the wear. Anyways, put these on our drains, and it definitely captures a lot more hair then the standard shower drains did, as the holes are much smaller. We don't have an overly curved tub or tile or anything difficult (that wouldn't allow it to seat/seal properly), but this thing still lets some hair slip underneath of it and then down the drain. The other problem is it doesn't sit still very well if water is hitting it ( a common occurrence in the shower ), and it tends to slide out with little force allowing hair sitting on top of it to wash off and then down the drain. It's not horrible, I keep an eye on it occasionally, dont point the shower wand on it directly, and I have to carefully pick it up and move it out of the way before I go from shower -> tub (to turn off). I think if they revised the rubber padding around the edges it would work better for my tub. For the price I don't know if it's worth it to some. 10$ "could" give me an extra year on my aerator pump, or an extra month between tank pumps, or maybe one less clog every couple decades. So it's probably worth it at that point, but I have the feeling you could get a similar product for cheaper ( probably not stainless steel ) that'll function at least as well. I'll probably look at different products for our other tubs.

Exact fit and excellent product !
Fits perfectly over our new shower drain. Catches all hair, etc - and stays in place. Yes to this !

Updated review
2nd update: while I really do like it, the only way it’s going to stay put is if I put a small line of aquarium sealer or waterproof caulk around the bottom. It has successfully stopped all the hair from getting underneath after I flipped it upside down (see 1st review), but of course there’s nothing holding it in place this way. If I add a thin ring of caulk to it, I’ll turn it back over the way it’s supposed to be & I suspect there’ll be no more movement of this drain screen & no more problems. I really do love how flat & smooth it is & hair doesn’t even catch in the holes, but just lays on top for quick removal. I love that it looks good too & not like something sitting in the tub. And that it’s SS so no rusting. But be forewarned: it might not stay in place for you 100% of the time if you try it for yourself & you may need to do as I’m doing to keep it from the small am’t of movement that allows a sm. portion of the hair to get under like I’ve noticed. 1st update: Still happy w/ this drain screen, but there are 2 things I’ve noticed w/ more use. 1st, there was a small wad of hair underneath it when I picked it up one day. I was surprized since I’d been getting hair off the top of it & I don’t know “how” hair was getting under it. It still caught more hair than my tub’s built in strainer does, & still worth it. Keep reading for my solution. 2nd: it has been moving some over my tub drain (initially it was staying where I put it), & I’m thinking excess soap might be making the silicone ring not grip as well. But the movement has been so little that it still covered my tub drain & I only gave it a nudge back about once a wk, so not a real problem. To see if I could alleviate hair getting under it, I’ve flipped it upside down over the drain so it lays totally flat on the bottom of the tub. Seems to have worked & the slight movement hasn’t seemed to have increased or decreased any. The silicone (which is now on top since I flipped it) doesn’t even show. It’s such a small silicone ring around the edge & clear colored, it’s virtually invisible. So I still like this drain cover! Still looks great, everything it catches just wipes off in 1 swipe w/o sticking in the holes, & it won’t ever rust or break. It’s made to last & will still look new forever. Initial review: Perfection! Works fine, stays in place even when water hits it full blast, cleaning is effortless, & it looks really good. An unintended benefit is my dog’s nails don’t get caught in the holes during a bath like they would w/ the built in tub strainer holes. This strainer is totally smooth too w/ no rough edge or hole to scrape a foot or paw on. And this strainer just lays across the tub’s built in strainer so no need to remove anything. This strainer definitely catches hair that the built in old tub strainer didn’t! One down side is that I thought it was too pricey & put off getting it for a long time.

Works well
This shower drain works really well. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and I'm definitely glad I got this. I have a long hair and a lot of it ends up in the drain when washing, in fact so much that every month I have to clean my drain because it gets clogged. Needles to mention that cleaning the drain is probably one of the most disgusting things ever. This shower drain eliminated the issue with clogged drain and it'smuch cleaner process to pick up the hair from it. All the hair catches on it and stays on top where it can easily be picked up and thrown out after every wash. It fits perfectly over my shower drain and it doesn't move or float around when showering. One thing I noticed with this shower drain is that it will slow down the water/foam draining during shower since the drainage holes are really small, but it's not an issue for me. I'd rather stay in the shower another 40 seconds while the water drains than deal with the nasty clogged drain. I definitely recommend this.

Flattens if you step on it and moves around.
I had high hopes for this cover. In a house with a ton of hair shedding that clogs the drain on a consistent basis, it does cover the walk-in showers drain just find but if you accidentally step on it, it pops from convex to flat. This doesn’t seem like an issue until you accidentally kick it away. When convex it stays well and gathers the hair wonderfully, i just wish it would stay that way. If you learn to deal with it then its bot that bad!

YAY! Works Very Well
My shower pipes thank thee! I tried the other two drain protectors from Oxo and they didn't work. This one was perfect. Allows water to flow easily and stops hair from clogging the drain. Because its big enough, it stays on the drain hole - no movement.

Satisfecho

Super indico!

DOVE VIENE PRODOTTO : Made in China MISURE : diametro 12 cm PREGI : Bello, funzionale, pratico, utile, efficace, grande, si pulisce facilmente, aderisce bene, materiali ottimi.

Top Piece of Kit
Great product - simple to use and extremely effective. My partner has long black hair and this drain protector is brilliant at catching it before it gets into the shower drain. Simple to remove when required and to clean. A great piece of kit and good value for money.

Doesn’t work for my shower drainage
Water drainage is obstructed. Hair is underneath so it is not catching any hair.
