Perfect for hanging pictures.
The two directional lazer is perfect for getting pictures hung straight. The stud finder lets you know where a solid mount is too. This is one of my favorite tools and I love it

On the level!
Great product! I was shopping for a replacement stud sensor after my old one bit the dust after 10+ years. Came across this model which offers both a stud sensor, wire detector and laser level, so thought I've give it a shot. Very glad I did - it works very well for all tasks.Bear in mind that a stud sensor is just measuring the density difference in the wall. It's not an x-ray machine, nor is it magic. Every stud sensor has limitations and you need to use some measure of common sense before drilling. The biggest cause of mis-reads is if you happen to start the calibration procedure when you are on, or very near, a stud. If so, you'll get spurious readings. It's a good idea to check twice, and drill once (to borrow from the "measure twice, cut once" mantra).Small nitpicking issues - the velcro on the back works well on smooth walls, but can snag on textured walls. Covering it with tape helps, but it would be nice if the velcro was removable. Also, the hole for marking the spot is a bit small - large pencils will not fit. Minor issues, however.Love the foam case. Makes it easy to keep the unit secure and all the parts in one place. The laser level works very well. Easy to see the line in daylight. Would be nice to have a vertical line as well, but the model that has that from B&D does not have a stud sensor function. All in all, a great product and a fantastic value at the sale price of $28!

Almost Perfect Stud Finder
The stud finder is easy to read and use. I like the built in laser level. The detection of live electrical wires is a little spotty. One review noted that if you place your palm on the wall while you use that feature, then it grounds the wall and works more reliably. I found that to be true in most cases, except for a couple external walls in my home (where stud detection was even a bit tricky). My only other complaint is that for the price point, they should include a real case for the tool to prevent damage to the LCD screen. I ended up buying one separately. The plastic case they use to ship the product in doesn't quite cut it. It's otherwise a useful tool.

MY FAVORITE LASER LEVEL--PERIOD
Man I love this thing. I bought one about 10 years ago and it was lost during a move. I've purchased two other levels in the $50 range since then and I've been unhappy every single time I use them, thinking fondly of my old B&D Bullseye lost somewhere in the vast expanse of time and space--or likely a landfill somewhere. The self-leveling, dual-beam feature is just hands down the most convenient, innovative, and makes-me-so-happy-and-smiley feature every single time. It's just so damn easy to get a perfectly level line within a second or two with no fiddling. Every time I pull out this tool in front of a friend or co-worker, the response is the same: "Woh, that's so cool! I love that."The stud sensor feature? I really don't care. It works just fine. It's all about the LASER on this thing. Buy it. You'll be happy and you'll thank me. B&D must have a patent on the dual-beam self-leveling thing because I've never found another unit that does the same thing in such a simple way. Good day!

Not the 2014 Unit
I bought this model - a 2018 model change from the older version - because I temporarily misplaced my 2014 model. Like the other reviewers, I note that this new model has no convenient, sturdy, zipped close black carrying case. It is also a smaller unit than the older model, which may be a plus, but was $20 more, and does not have as many accessories to assist with centering/wall marking as the older unit. The older model is powered by a 9v battery, the new one by two AA batteries. The new model has a weaker red laser than the old model, perhaps the reason for the lower battery power required. And the new model has a digital dial, not the blinking light pattern to indicate stud location. For the difference in price, the older model was a far better product value, and the new model, a disappointment. For me, the brighter red laser in the old model makes a difference in wall marking when working in a room with sunlight or floodlight lighting, and the sturdy carrying case with the old model has kept the kit together well over the years.

perfect for a handyman!
I purchased as a Christmas gift for my adult son (his request) and he said he would be lost without it! He has used it pn many home repair jobs (and even lent it to neighbors to use). Very accurate.

Finds studs
I bought a second one after I lost the first one that is 10+ years old during a move.. I prefer this over several other models found at box stores.. the 2 in 1 level and stud finder makes a honeydo list easy to say yes to..
