Be sure you take the proper measurements (thigh girth and inseam) so you know exactly which size to buy. Mine fits perfect and was overall comfortable. Yes, they are warm but not by any means unbearable. In fact, since I bought the camo pair I use able to use that as my actually camo suit so I didn't have to wear the additional pants that I usually hunt in (they blended in the the surroundings nicely). One more thought that I would like to mention. I have read reviews regarding how heavy and challenging these chaps can be to wear out and about in the woods. I'm 36 years old, 5'10 and 195lbs. I stay active and workout but far from a gym rat. This product, to me at least, was not that challenging to wear for basically 2 days straight (even around the camp site). I had to climb straight up a hill side (approx: 1 mile) and walked approx 3-5 miles a day. Yes my legs were tired but not enough to really make a difference. I did not find this product difficult to use in regards to heaviness or fatigue. They also have adjustable straps that attach to your belt to control the height. I normally wear a 30" pants length and these work great with a pair of boots. They should work well for anything from 28" to 34" pants length. **Q: How many inches are the "short", "regular" & "tall"?** A: I bought the "short". My inseam is 28" and these fit perfectly. I can't answer for the regular and tall, but hope this helps a little. **Q: Does handwashing soften these chaps?** A: No, and you really don’t want to soften them because then they would be ineffective in preventing a snake bite. I would suggest walking around your house in them to break them in. Similarly to breaking in a new pair of shoes. **Q: where do i find the sizing chart?** A: I just knew that my husband was short, so I ordered him regular/short. He wears them often, hasn't encountered any snakes that I know of. one of the straps broke after several months of use but he is rough on things.
