First, let me say that I assume most people are installing these on a cement floor or other hard surface. However, the room I am making into a workout room is already carpeted, and the product clearly says for indoor use (in fact, it seems primarily designed for indoor use, since it says outdoors UV will fade the tiles).If you install these on carpet, you will have a couple issues:1) They may not stay perfectly interlocked because the amount of give the carpet has lets the tile edges move vertically with respect to each other.2) The strength of the interlocks is... unimpressive. On carpet, you better get the edges right where you want them because there is no adjusting it afterwards. If you pull on the assembled mat hard enough to shift it, you tiles just start pulling apart. This is probably less of a problem on concrete since it is smoother.Second, the odor from these tiles is unpleasantly strong. From one mat on the first floor, I can smell it throughout the house even on the third floor. Hopefully this is temporary while the rubber off-gases. If not, I may have to return these or throw them away. Ironically, the product description says:"These responsibly-made gym tiles won’t pollute your air and harm your lungs during your workout. The only thing you’ll feel burning your lungs is that killer cardio workout you just crushed."Right. Would that be before or after you pass out from all VOC's these things are off-gassing?If it wasn't for the fact that I'm installing on carpet and I assume they work better on a hard surface, I would probably give this product 2 stars. I'm glad many other people seem to be very happy with this product, but they must have better ventilation and a harder floor where they are using them.

Unbearable smell that has persisted for over 7 months. Bought this for my home gym in May. Noticed an immediate pervasive odor consistent with organic off-gassing. Closed off the room, opened the windows with fans and hoped for the odor to relent. Here I am 7 months later. The odor is awful (gives all of us a headache). Considering calling a colleague of mine for an air sample to see if anything is unsafe. I wholeheartedly regret this purchase and would not recommend this product for home use.

Installed under a heavy bag with cinder blocks. Has kept the stand from shifting so much during use, reduces the dust/breakdown of the cinder blocks as they bounce against the floor (concrete), and is a nice walking space for bare feet.I let them air out in the garage for a day before installing, and they had an odor still for a day or two but after that nothing. I did 9 blocks originally but the hubby requested extending it another row to 12 blocks total. I've not seen issues with the connections or durability.When I ordered more, I accidentally ordered the wrong types (got corners when I needed edges). Customer service worked with me quickly to adjust the order before it shipped. Nice.

I absolutely love these! They are exactly what I wanted. I have a large area/bedroom I wanted them in and they work awesome. They don't slide around or come apart. I do, however, agree with the smell, but I was able to get past that. They are rubber, after all. They are also quite firm or hard, so I do have to put a yoga mat down for extra padding when on my knees or arms. I just basically needed something to protect my wood floors from the weights and equipment. Overall the look and functionality of these are great!!

I'm buying a couple here and there and slowly laying them down in my garage for my home gym. I was hesitant on the thickness (thinness) but they work just find when gently dropping weights (NOT slamming or letting them fall 1+ feet). The tiles fit together well. Smell (not bad) lasts a couple days and then it's good! I plan to do my entire garage floor.

The tiles were exactly what I was looking for and work great for my home gym. They are high quality and very durable; not like the foam-based tiles I had previously. They also fit together easily and seamlessly. The one major drawback is that they do smell terrible (as stated on other reviews) and I had to air out my basement for almost two weeks to get rid of the smell. I would highly recommend airing them out outside somewhere before installing them in your home. I might purchase more to cover more area and definitely plan to do air-out beforehand.

These floor tiles are perfect for a home gym setup & they are exactly what I was looking for. We have 3 cats & they can sometimes accidentally (or intentionally) claw into softer foam tiles. This stuff however is heavy & tough. There is no way they can damage it.This is an is ideal solution for any home workout area, but if you are incorporating weight training, it's absolute must. The stuff is durable, easy to clean & looks great. Also, I like that it's expandable. I've been assembling my home gym piece by piece and it's very cost efficient to add another row of tiles whenever I add a new piece of equipment. I think I have expanded my area 3x since my initial order. If you are on a budget then start small and add space as needed.The first order took some time to arrive. Other orders were average to medium in arrival time, and my most recent order was FAST. So I really can't peg a shipping speed. But I understand some variances could occur because this stuff is HEAVY. Just 4 tiles weighs a lot!I am very grateful to the Amazon user who linked & recommended this to me & I would gladly recommend this flooring solution to anyone.
