Just What I Needed
I spent quite some time searching for a new divan. We needed a new mattress, a smaller one than our old one, so a new divan too. This time, we wanted one with drawers. They are handy things to have right under your bed, so after much searching and reading of reviews, we opted for this Bed Centre model with matching headboard. There was a nice selection of colours for the plush, velvety feeling, material used to cover the unit.We needed a king size divan. These always come split into two halves. Well, in the old days they were split from head to foot, or "north to south" as the divan vernacular goes. These were split "east to west", so not something I'd seen before. Still, it worked out a better way of splitting the units as each was a little easier to handle. These units come with what's referred to as "gliders" rather than the more traditional casters. I prefer these gliders as they spread the weight of the bed over a wider area, so not as damaging to carpets and better for hard floors. In addition, they are not nearly so painful to stub one's toes on while wandering to the loo in the night! They're essentially circular feet, like an upside-down toed stool and you slap them into place the same way one does with the old caster wheels.Finish is good and the plush material feel soft. The divan platform is said to be "non-slip" and is covered with material to achieve that. It could be a tad rougher to offer better non slip as when making my bed, my knee pressed up against the mattress which duly slid a foot or so across the divan. Another tiny design choice that may have assisted with keeping said mattress in place would be if there had been a raised border around the divan in the form of something like my old one which had a tufted ridge. There's a sort of border, but it's not really raised. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a serious fault, just a minor, very minor, thing I noticed. My mattress does not move around when sleeping or sitting on it, so don't worry. The divan units seem sturdy enough. There's not too much to really separate one from another in my admittedly limited experience. There is a pair of U-clips provided to secure the two halves of the divan together. However, I've never bothered with these as the sheer weight of the mattress tends to prevent any movement. If you knock one half then it may misalign very slightly, but it's just as easily corrected, so don't feel you must fit these. The drawers, we opted for the 4 drawer option, are perfectly fine. Nothing special, but decently implemented using the same plush covering and colour as the rest of the unit, so not looking obtrusive. They use a design that means you need to pull them out from their undersides by the lower edge of the divan, where there is a cut out for your hand to slip in which runs the length of the drawer. Possibly an odd design choice, as it means one has to bend lower than needed or crouch to open the drawer. The drawer bins are plastic, so not super strong. I wouldn't place large, heavy solid objects in there, but clothing, bedding and other small objects are just fine. During shipping, the drawers are secured shut by wide strips of the same plush material as the divan itself. These need to be pulled off as they are stapled on the top and bottom sides of the drawers. It can take quite a tug to remove them, so don't be timid. I've put the removed strips inside each drawer as they are a nice soft piece of material. For those having the matching headboard, it's thickly padded and quite heavy. It's a two person job to mount it. u could possibly manage it yourself, but you need strong arms and a bit of coordination. The attachment method isn't the best, but I Suspect this is the case for most divans out there. In my opinion, the design could be made a lot stronger. Only two large bolts hold the headboard onto the back of the divan. Each hole is covered with a sticker which needs to be removed. Don't worry if you don't see the hole as there is one behind the covering material. I had to use the end of a pair of scissors to pierce the fabric over the holes in order to insert the heavy bolts. A pair of soft wood batons are used to attach to the rear of the headboard. The batons have a long open wide groove at the bottom end. The headboard is simply mounted atop the protruding pair of bolts via the groove you slid over the exposed bolt shaft. The bolts come with plastic washers, so you thread the washers over the bolt, then insert the bolt, leaving enough exposed thread to accommodate the groove in the batons, then tighten said bolts to grip the baton. There are 4, 2 per side, medium sized bolt holes in the Rea of the headboard, presumably for height adjustment, according to the thickness of your chosen mattress. I found using the lower hole was perfect for my 20cm thick mattress. However, I opted to supplement the mounting system by using some of my own metal washers I had to hand. So, on both the Rea of the headboard, requiring 4 bolts, and the pair of large divan mounting bolts, I added large washers. To me, bolt heads and soft wood are not a good mix for bearing loads. I also would've liked to see a second pair of mounting bolts at the bottom of the divan to add further strength. The existing upper edge bolt mounts are potentially weak without additional bracing by a second, low mounted set at the base of the wooden batons witch run right down to the lower edge of the divan. Even with my washer additions, the headboard, with its weight, has some movement, so I wouldn't lean back against it if your bed is not up against a wall. These observations aside, the finished look with headboard attached is very nice.During my searching for a divan set, I came across alternatives from other sites that were considerably more expensive than this unit. In all honesty, I just couldn't see any reason for this. based on reviews of those more expensive options, the quality was not better. These Bed Centre divan units are very fairly priced and the quality is perfectly acceptable.

Luxurious looking, great value and excellent service.
It is a great looking bed that was easy to assemble. The U clips could be better designed to hold in place but once we realised that we needed to squeeze them it worked. The drawer bases are a bit flimsy so will not hold a lot of weight. But with our expensive deep mattress it looks luxurious and is great to sleep on. The updates on delivery were good and they even phoned to say they were 30 minutes away. The delivery men were polite & respectful of Covid rules. They wore masks & put shoe covers on which was much appreciated.

Base not that strong
Had this two years now and the frame isn’t great. It’s more or less just cardboard the mattress sits on and that’s already caving in.It’s not non slip as the mattress easily slides. It’s a nice colour and looks nice when you first get it but we’re already looking for another bed frame so unless you’re after a temporary bed frame, I really wouldn’t bother.

Ideal.
The bed frame and headboard are good and sturdy. Pity the supplier didn't get it dispatched promptly so that it could be delivered on time. For that reason only I will not purchase goods from them again.

Well worth the money but squeaking
Edit * still looks good but because the top of the base (the but the mattress sits on) is basically cardboard, the bed is squeaking really badly which is dissapointing after 10 months.....After a previous bed didn't arrive, I decided in this one, mainly as I couldn't be bothered to assemble a bed anymore. This was brilliant, well made. The base is non slip so the mattress stays put. The feet go in well and look sturdy, not the kind of wheels that bend. The headboard wooden legs go all the way to the ground and is sturdy. Looks very classy..so happy I changed my mind. No complains at all.

Love this bed
I don’t know what all the negative reviews are about, this exceeded my expectations. Draws are absolutely fine and sturdy and the headboard doesn’t wobble or bang. I didn’t buy a mattress as I hadn’t long got my one but I am super impressed with my bed especially for the price. Under £200 for a kingsize bed frame 4 draws and headboard :) you can’t go wrong!!!!!

Really impressed
Really easy to put together and looks so good for the price. Was skeptical about ordering a bed on Amazon as wasn’t sure what to expect but I am pleasantly surprised! Only thing I would say is the headboard does wobble slightly but for the price it’s an absolute value buy.

Terrible quailty and customer service
Bed had a big crack in it when it arrived , draws broken , the bed itself ‘looks loverly ‘ but the quailty is awfull and the top layer actually feels like it’s made from cardboard so not surprised that it’s cracked , sent 2 emails to the company only to be ignored - if you want a bed that looks great but could fall apart while your sleeping on it then this is the bed for you , if not stay well away !
