Best rock tumbling grits on Amazon
I have been rock tumbling for over two years now and I have purchased this brand multiple times and will continue to be a return customer. The grits work exactly as expected for each stage of tumbling. Important notes:- Get the one that has the ceramic filler - not the plastics. The ceramic will last way longer and be better on your rocks.- Also - watch some YouTube videos on how to tumble rocks and switch between stages. There's some important tips to make sure you get the best results. Michigan Rocks YouTube channel has some great instructions on it.For the price and quality, couldn't be happier.

Used this to resurface my paper sharpening wheel works perfectly and it will probably last me a couple years easily.

Sorry I tried another manufacturer
Started back into rock tumbling about a year ago. Needing more supplies, I went on Amazon and settled on the Polly Plastics Media Grit Kit and was well pleased with the results. I did not bother to do a review at that time. When it came time to resupply, I decided to try a different vendor (see my other reviews if you wish to know). All was fine until I finished the polish step, which looked more like a pre-polish cycle. I first suspected the new ceramic filler I was using, but after removing all of that, and rerunning the pre-polish and polish step, the results were the same. I then set that batch aside and ordered more of the Polly Plastic polish (1200 grit). Keeping all of the filler media and slabs the same, I ran the polish step again with the Polly Plastic product. The results were night and day (see photos). I really lost a lot of material off my slabs and even had a few fracture during the last try, but now I know. Yes, I would recommend the Polly Plastic products.

It works my rocks are shiny!
Works a lot better than the stuff that came with the National Geographic rock tumbler. Just let the rocks tumble with this for ~2 weeks and you’ll have shiny rocks!

Newbie: Still learning
So I am new to rock tumbling, I just got my first hobby kit ever for my birthday in June (National Geographic Rock tumbler for those interested) the kit only came with so much grit and being as Ive collected a lot of rocks in the last however many years, I ran out fast. So I went to Polly Plastics to find some well priced and well working grit. Well it came SUPER fast. When I ordered on Friday it was estimated that I would receive my product by the following Wednesday, but I received it on Sunday. It was expertly packaged, you could tell that care went into me receiving my grit. Not only were the two one pound bags of grit in some heavy duty zipper sealed bags, but they were inside another zipper sealed bag, then wrapped in plastic. If these bags had leaked at all it wouldn’t have gone anywhere! Luckily they didn’t leak and I was able to get all my grit into the jar I use to keep it in. I’ll update in a few days to let you know the quality of the grind as my rocks are now currently in and being tumbled.Update: I took my rocks out of my tumbler today. For all those who would like to know my tumbler is a little 3 pound tumbler. Everything I have read says that you need to add two tablespoons of grit. When I pulled my rocks out today there was SO much extra grit that it had created a nearly cement layer at the bottom of my tumbler that took several washes in order to clear out the grit and get all my rocks out. Most of them were smooth enough to move on to the next phase. The grit is very shiny, almost metallic.I’ll update in a few more days, I put only one tablespoon in for this round.Update: Just pulled the batch out that had only one tablespoon of grit in it and it worked beautifully, it seems that for my 3 lb. hobby tumbler one tablespoon of this grit is plenty. I have attached a picture of my rocks that are ready to go on to phase 2.
