It's a nice big tarp
It's a nice big tarp. I got it for use with hammocks, and for that it works great. It's lightweight (not as much as silnylon or cuben fiber, but light enough) and the stuff sack is oversized enough to hold more than just the tarp and stakes. My main reason for not giving it 5 stars is the placement of the grommets and center ridgeline loop... Why are they not evenly placed? It makes it seem like they just cut down the 12x12 tarp...

This is a nice tarp for heavy duty backpacking in the high country.
Great tarp for the money. Decent weight to strength ratio. I hike and camp in the Rockies so I face potential harsh weather all year round. This tarp is big enough that if pitched properly you should be able to ride out a storm in relative comfort assuming you have adequate clothing and sleep gear. You will need to supply your own guy lines. I pre tie on guy line to the tarp for quicker setup. Practice tarp setup before you go into the backcountry.

Works fine provided that you keep it out of sunlight!
This tarp is lightweight and likely does very well for short camping trips. However, I left it outside to cover some furniture, and the tarp quickly started to disintegrate, I'm guessing due to exposure to sunlight. The tarp has a one year warranty, so I wrote the company about replacing, but the company informed me that I can't expect the tarp to hold up to direct sunlight, so they wouldn't replace. Therefore, I can't say that this tarp is worth fifty bucks, unless you feel that it's worth fifty bucks to replace yearly. This tarp lasted no longer than the cheapo tarps I was previously using.

Decent tarp with durability issues.
I used this tarp for about 3 backpacking trips to the Linville Gorge, and it seems that the tarp just isn't designed to sustain much wind at all. The tarp tore at one of the round grommet points that was used to suspend the tarp over my hammock in a fairly light, but constant wind. It always kept the rain out (it rained every time I took it out), and it seemed to be a good size for my use. It's just not durable enough to rely on for inclement weather.

Light weight but effective.

Great tarp, huge stuff sack, and I got lucky.
Great quality for the price. All loops and grommets are reinforced. The seam taping is first rate. The stuff sack is gargantuan. I fit my tarp, hammock, cordage, tent stakes, and tarp clips easily into the one bag. Noticed the price went up $13 after I bought it, but it's still a good deal at the higher price. I got lucky, it was $44 with free shipping for me.

good quality at a low price
Nice large tarp with caternary-cut sides, so you can pull it tight. I like this tarp, and have used it several times now to cover hammocks, a camp cooking area, and game meat. It's worked well for me.
