Perfect...
...except for the eternity spent trying to peel off the UPC sticker off the rod. I mean industrial strength glue here, people. Not sure they make enough Goo B Gone to remove the residue as it basically stained the rod; any more removal attempts would rub off the finish--an easy feat on a non-plasticized surface. I am harping on this primarily due to the excessive amount of packaging involved in both Amazon's shipping box and the actual packaging from the manufactuer; there's little excuse that not three inches of space amongst all this plastic and cardboard could be found to place a sticker! I am no tree hugger, but please recycle it; there's just THAT much packaging for an item that is not fragile. Rant over. The shower rod itself is nice quality, sturdy, and the gauge should fit even the smallest rings/hooks. I ordered in bronze. Another reviewer mentioned the finish is more of a brown with bronze flecks. True. But they still match your standard oil rubbed bronze fixtures. The specks are not shiny or especially cheap looking, however after a lot of use, I could see this becoming more brown than bronze. I cannot wax too poetic about a shower rod; this merely does what it's supposed to do (stays up), is low profile (shows off the curtain not itself) and is priced correctly. Value plus style. Just hope yours doesn't arrive with the world's most sticky sticker.

Saved me drilling holes in the wall, super sturdy and useful
I used this to hang up a curtain to cover an open closet and it worked perfectly. It expanded super far, alot farther than I expected and held up well. It never fell and looked great. Only problem I had was after I took it down after a few months it left some marks where the ends expanded to the wall. Easy cover up though and better than having to drill holes.

Used this as a large tension curtain rod
I needed a tension rod that could handle the weight of a pair of large panel curtains on a window about 50 inches wide. Most tension rods aren't meant to go on windows this large, so finding one was difficult. While this Carnation Adjustable Tension Rod is designed with the intention of using as a shower curtain, it actually works perfectly as a large window tension rod as well. It's large and holds well, and since it's designed to hold the weight of a wet shower curtain, regular curtain panels are no problem at all for this rod. Setting it up was unbelievably easy, just take the plastic wrapper off and twist the rod until it's at the desired length. I used one of these rods in white with some Regal Home Collections Ultimate Brights 54-Inch by 84-Inch Decorative Grommet Interlined Faux Silk Panel in Blue in my daughters room, and it turned out perfect. It made for an affordable and great looking way to cover the large windows in my pre-teens bedroom.

Very nice!
I've had many shower curtain rods over the years, this one is VERY nice [...]We got the rubbed oil bronze color and it would have a 5 star except that the outside rod and the inside rod are not the same colors. The inside one is lighter and has more "speckles". Also they put a sticker RIGHT ON THE POLE!!! And it WAS stuck! I ran hot water over it as i did not want to chance using chemicals on it - but alas.[...] I had to use GooGone on it. The good news is, it didn't take any color off the rod. The plastic/rubber ends are a bit bigger than the rod, but they don't fall off. Those are all the cons. The pros are it is a sturdy rod, nice coating on the rod which allows for smooth movement of the rings. The color on this rod is very nice (except for the slight difference in the two rods) I would buy this again...Only - AMAZON - message for you.[...] for a rod, you don't need a 20x35x3 box[...] I couldn't believe the size of it! A poster shipping box would have worked better [...]

These could work for you
I bought 2 of these tension rods in bone to go with my Heritage Lace ecru drop panels to use as an insert in my 74" by 40" drop, large front window sill. These particular curtain panels have rod sleeves in the top and bottom so that the curtain hangs taunt between. I was pretty nervous but relieved when the curtain barely/snuggle fit around the rod, upon removing the rubber end caps. When I extended the rod to 74", there was definitely some sagging in the middle, which we remedied by using a clear 3M command adhesive hook for the middle to rest on top of. Great fix. I'm not sure how you'd stand having a sagging shower curtain rod since there's no good way to support it if freely hanging. This rod ended up being great for my purpose, as long as it holds up over the next months, with the sagging fix. Not bad for the price, and I'm really happy with how the lace curtain panels look. I'm also glad we have full regular, curtains hanging around the window as well which hide the rubber stoppers on either end.

Light Duty Rod
This rod that I have is the white one and it has a nice appearance. There is an instructions sheet wrapped around the rod. The instructions say very simply to turn the rod in opposite directions to lengthen or shorten the rod. After the two ends touch the walls you are to continue turning to increase the tension until the rod is solidly in place.I followed the instructions to install the rod for my shower which is lined with ceramic tile. The ends of the rod are quite slippery as is the ceramic tile. I was unable to secure the rod firmly enough to support a shower curtain. The rod would fall on its own even when no shower curtain was attached. This is a failure as a shower curtain rod but I was able to install it in my workshop where I used fasteners to hold it in place. I use it to hang shop cloths to dry that I have washed. I also hang chamois cloths to dry after being used to wash my vehicles. The curtain rod rings come in handy anytime I need to hang something for temporary storage.I would not recommend this for hanging a shower curtain. However, if you just need an adjustable rod for hanging something very light weight or if you can find a different use by installing it with fasteners then this may work for you. I should point out that this is made in China so don't expect too much.

Dont’buy, after two months it’s falling down once a week, no Mather the adjustment! The mechanism seems to release slowly and finally falling, this is crap.
