Worth every penny
This is probably the best upgrade I’ve done to my truck, as far as overall performance is concerned. I had recently replaced my AC compressor, dryer, expansion tube, and noticed the high side was getting a little too high. After replacing the fan clutch, the high side was still an issue. Enough heat was not being removed by the belt driven fan. So I made the move to do an e-fan conversion. The kit is complete from start to finish. The quality of construction is excellent, better than a factory installed part. Instructions are easy to follow with a few “figure it out” moments. And the results are worth it.The AC cools far better at idle. The engine gained a few HP losing the fan.Gas mileage actually improved. The engine temps are regulated much better.Things to note:I couldn’t find any switched power under the hood of my truck, so I wired the switch wire directly to the 12v supply off the battery. Doesn’t hurt anything. These fans draw 28amps at 100%, so it is a good idea to load test your alternator, especially if it is an older one. You wouldn’t want to take a road trip with your new e-fans just to have your alternator crap out on you.An AC high pressure Trinary switch is a recommended addition, so that the fans will engage with proper high pressure, instead of running all the time with the AC on. Fans are usually not needed at highways speeds.

Not as loud when the hood is shut.
Put this on 05 F-150 Fx4.As for the install was easy just crimp the ends on hook it into the variable speed controller but the brackets on the fan were a bit struggling to get in right to set again radiator. Best thing to do when setting the temp on it when it turns on it to set it right at or just a little above what your thermostat is in the vehicle. I had my probe by in the inlet and it was to far away for what the person at Flex-a-lite said to moved it down a little and more the edge of the radiator and wait for motor to get warm in park. But I used a infrared laser gun on top of motor to see what the temps is and turned the dial till it kicked on. Definitely some HP again I don't know how much but it awesome to have some more horsepower back some say it only 10 to 15 HP but I think it was more than that. I will check mileage in town and highway driving and update my findings.6-29-18Ok so after little more than 2 months. Had no problems with no over heating pulling boat hundreds of miles. Mileage when up in town to 14 instead of 12 and get 17.3 on highway instead of 16

they were awesome even a grade school kid could have followed them
Every thing on every web site said this unit was only designed for 1997 to 2005 ford pick ups F150s and some F250s I have a 2006 F150 XLT and I took a chance and ordered this unit and before I did anything else I opened the box , found and read the instructions, they were awesome even a grade school kid could have followed them. most of the time you have to have an engineering degree just to read the instructions. and on top of that this product fit my 06 F150 perfectly. I have only been running it a few days. I am an Electrical Contractor and I work my truck everyday it has 263K miles and the AC has always been lacking esspeacially on verry hot days , in traffic and on initial start up and now it works as well as my wife's BMW and I am thrilled. I have always kept up on the maintence and most generally always use Ford parts but this time I went aftermarket and could not be happier. Works great!
2004 Ford F-150 Heritage 4x4 4.2L V6. Install took around 8hrs. I put some bulb grease around the radiator probe to help reduce core wear and conduct heat. Fans run with AC on, or when temp requires. I like how they start out slow and speed up if necessary. Without AC, and while idling, they cycle for about 10sec on every 90sec or so. It will also run if needed within 30sec after key off. I was expecting a larger fuel mileage increase, but got maybe 1-2mpg. MUCH quieter than "trash truck" stock fan. Better acceleration from stop. All in all very happy with installation, though it took a little bit of modification of lower brackets to accommodate various AC and transmission cooler hoses. Very clean looking engine bay when done, and much better access to belts, water pump, thermostat, etc.

Catastrophic Failure - Flex-a-Lite will not stand behind their product
This is a unit that has 2 fans in it. Out of the box, it had some bearing noise which I was assured by Flex-a-lite was normal and okay. This fan only lasted 2 years (35K miles) before suffering a catastrophic failure. One fan motor completely seized and the fan blade came off of the shaft, breaking apart in my engine bay. Luckily it did not damage any of the trans, power steering or coolant lines and did not affect the accessory belt. The other motor bearings were also failing. Flex-a-Lite will offer no help since it is out of warranty...even though this is a premium product that should last more than 2 years. To make it even worse, parts are not available for this unit. No retailer can get the replacement motor or fan blades for 2-3 months. Flex-a-Lite won't sell direct or offer any solutions, even though they are located in the same state.A cooling fan should last more than 2 years. An american company should stand behind their product, and at the very least have replacement parts available for the products they actively sell (this is not a discontinued product).Stay away from Flex-a-Lite. They are garbage...especially for the high price. The company has been bought out...and is no longer the family owned atmosphere that used to mean something...I replaced the fan unit with 2 Hayden 16" fans, and for now wired them up to the Flex-a-Lite Variable Speed Controller since it is still working. Overall this would have been a cheaper system, had I gone this direction from the beginning.

Finally got them installed and the fuse blew due to an electric short in one of the fans.It works ok on one fan but will need a replacement for the Summer.

2004 F150 Supercrew 4✖️4 E fan install.
I bought electric fans to increase fuel mileage and increase air conditioning efficiency. Installation is straight forward and now it's time to road test. I will update my review once timehas past.
