Landing Leathers Men Navy G-1 Leather Flight Bomber Jacket (Also available in Big & Tall)

I was expecting the leather to be thin like the Landing Leather G-1 Distressed Leather Jacket, and was pleasantly surprised that the leather is thicker and mid-heavy. The jacket is not stiff, and was shipped in a white Amazon plastic packing bag instead of a box, there is no clothe hanger as in other reviews. It look more visually appealing than on the Amazon pictures. The stitches on both leather and inner lining are good. The unremovable collar faux fur is stitched on one side with the other side leather, and a leather strap to hold the collar together when needed to warm your neck. Faint smell of leather can be detected, it fit nicely for my size M, dark brown in colour, sometimes appearing more like a deep dark maroon brown which is nice. The Jacket insulation filling keep the wearer very warm, and is also very comfortable. Ample baggy space for the arms and unrestricted movement. Outside pockets to warm your hands are small and have to clench your fist to fit in, it feel nice and warm. The inside liner pocket can hold a couple of passports with liner that feel smooth and warm. On the whole, the G-1 leather jacket is not an exact military specs, but look luxurious, very well made, and of high quality despite its affordable pricing. This will be my main coat to take onboard flight, travel and cold weather use. A couple of leather conditioning with lanolin, would help softening and hopefully reduced the puffy look when wearing it. The only complaint I have is what may assumed to be a small flaw on the top right arm leather (see 2nd photo) where a spot of leather seems thinner or some kind of slash cut below. Nevertheless, I shouldn’t be complaining, bought it at US$99.

Actually I'm very happy with the purchase!I did order the jacket 2 XL-tall and the fit is fine, just a bit large but I'm glad for that should I want to wear a sweater under it, but so far that hasn't been necessary as it is very warm even with the current (12/2016) cold spell in our area and temps down in the +10 degree range in the mornings. I love the brown color and lining finish. There are the two large front pockets as in the product photos with smaller hand pockets behind the large pockets and one deep inside pocket, on the left side and built into the leather and before the liner.OK, so I do have one gripe, again just because it's new, the button holes on the pockets are really stiff and tight getting the buttons opened or closed on the two front pockets. The very soft "fur" collar is NOT removable but has a way to close it around you neck with a flap of leather and smaller buttons, and Included are a few new buttons of both sizes. The zipper is a YKK antiqued looking metal, well made and works fine. There is a sewn flap on the right side that protects the clothes from being zipped up when closing the jacket around your stomach area. I read a few complaints about the leather being somewhat stiff. Since it is still new it is just a bit but not very stiff as you might think unable to move with it on. When I'm wearing it I notice it most when driving my pickup truck and the back and the collar gets pushed up. Overall the jacket is not stiff to the point of being a problem at all, and I don't think it will be long to break in. Also, mentioned in other reviews, conditioners will help as this is not my first leather jacket.Again, overall I am very happy with this purchase. I think the jacket is very well made and a bargain considering all the three to five hundred dollar leather jackets out there.

The jacket comes folded u into a teeny teeny box. It is just now after 3 weeks unwrinkling. Honestly, we both thought it was plastic. I bought XXL tall for my hubby who wears xl clothes. This jacket fits him and is not long looking nor is it too roomy. We decided to keep it and will see how it wears but if it actually is leather, its not soft or smooth and has no leather smell whatsoever. I was tempted to snip underneath somewhere to check, but felt if I did then I couldn't return it. So I am so surprised to see reviews of high quality leather. Anyhow, it looks good on him, just looks really cheap.
