Beginner's Guide to Kumihimo Paperback – Illustrated, September 25, 2018

Excellent book! Lots of photos and her 8-strand beading directions mimic bead crochet. Well written, especially for a beginner and the projects are stunning.

This is one of three 'beginning' Kumihimo books I bought when I started. Clear instruction, great photos and a complete overview of what you need to know to make this hobby work. This book gave me to courage to begin incorporate beads into my work. I was afraid to try it, figuring somebody was going to have to cut me free from whatever catastrophic failure I created! But the step by step instructions, coupled with the pictures made me give it a shot. I won't say my first effort is perfect, but it's a lot better than I had hoped. And nobody had to cut me out of a tangled mess of satin cords and beads! I highly recommend this book.

This is a good book with many patterns. It is easy to follow. We have made several of the examples without issue. They turned out beautifully.

As a newbie to Kumihimo I am intrigued with the art and have had success with some of the basic braiding patterns.I am interested in delving deeper in the art, but before investing more in tools and product, I wanted to see what experts in the techniques could accomplish. This book showcases beautiful examples and gives patterns. I am convinced this is a skill I will enjoy developing and that the projects I produce will find welcome homes with my family (3 daughters and 4 granddaughters) and friends.As an added benefit, the stress relief from doing this ZEN activity cannot be overemphasized. Just studying the lovely pictures in this book is relaxing. This is a top quality, coffee table worthy book.

I usually prefer necklaces over bracelets and this book only has 1 or 2 necklaces, but I still really like this book. Sometimes the instructions were a little difficult, but I had minimal experience and with that little experience I knew what the book meant. The necklace I did was simple and turned out absolutely beautiful. The bracelets I did were gorgeous too. Really good book.

Very good instruction for a beginner. Easy to understand in a variety of projects. I definitely recommend this as a first book.
