Used for a science fair project
I used this with a student's science fair project-- the UV detector picked up the highest UV rating with a blacklight bulb. The student measured UV on the other side of a pane of glass with different sunscreens on the glass. Great product! Simplifies UV measurement quite a bit.

It’s an alarm clock(?) that you CAN’T SHUT OFF
If I could EVER shut off the alarm clock function on this, I would have given it four stars and kept it (still one star off for including a clock function that nobody wants or needs on their UV detector). But no, once you activate the battery you are now using up most of your battery life supporting the unwanted alarm clock “feature”. What’s the thinking here? I’m gonna measure UV light with it less than once a month, and then wear it around my neck the rest of the time because in 2026, I still haven’t figured out how to look up what time it is? 🙄 In reality it would just sit in my toolbox draining its own battery telling the time of day to my screwdrivers, and then next time I want to use it I can go buy a NEW battery. No thanks!

The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because when I gave it to my dad he finally said he was going blind. Make sure you can read the window

Great deal for price
Excellent for the price! I purchased this for a science project. We'd had a different brand that was okay, but this UV meter is much better. No, it's not the greatest UV reader on the planet, but for the price and the purpose of an elementary science fair project, this product is great!

It has been interesting to see how UV light transmits through windows (car sunroof and windshield; home), pieces of clothing, glasses, etc. Avoid skin cancer!
