extang 44445 Original Trifecta Trifold Truck Bed Cover fits Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra 1500 (5 ft 8 in) 2014-18

This is the 3rd Extang Trifecta I've owned. The previous 2 were for Silverado 1500s with the 6.5 ft standard bed. I would absolutely rate those as 5 stars. However, this latest one I purchased was for a 2014 Silverado 1500 short bed (5.8 ft), and as other reviewers have noted, it does not lay flat at the tailgate. The back edge stays up just a bit and just doesn't clamp down tightly. I am hoping as the vinyl loosens up over time it will lay flat, but I didn't have this issue at all on the longer bed trucks. I'm wondering if the shorter bed means the clamps are proportionately not as close to the tailgate end of the truck along that 3rd folding panel, and thus the leverage point just isn't the same to keep a tight seal. I'm hoping that's not the case. I would look forward to seeing other reviews from owners of the short bed, to see if any others have successfully gotten a tight seal at the tailgate.UPDATE: Changing rating to 5 stars after calling Extang customer support. As soon as I described the gap issue mentioned above they knew exactly what I meant, and told me that's a warranty covered issue for the tarp being cut too short. They sent me another one next day FedEx that fit great, and a prepaid shipping label to return the first one at no cost to me. Excellent customer service!

I got this for my Silverado, looks good, and functions well. The easy clamps are great for when you're trying to load and unload, or if you need an open bed.Update nearly 5 years later: Until about 2 months ago this product was going strong. Really it has weathered far better than I expected for the price and construction style. A few months ago though one of the middle support struts worked itself loose, and in the process of reseating it a tear formed in the top of the cover. I still use it but I expect it will not last through the winter snow.

I have this on my 2015 Chevy Silverado short box. I recently spent the extra money on a premium cloth finish instead of the vinyl, I live on gravel so that cloth absorbed the dust and was very tough to remove. I exchanged it for vinyl finish and I am very glad I did. The cover is very easy to install and creates a great seal that is mostly from what i can tell waterproof. (Hasn't been out in heavy rain yet since were in a drought). Haven't noticed any large improvement with mpg.

On my 2014 Silverado Crew Cab. Installed in about 10 minutes without tools. The only thing I don't like is the buckle location behind the cab. It is almost ontop of the tonneau taking away from the streamlined look. That is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars.

The cover fit well but one of the hinges was broken. No problem, I contacted Extang directly and they sent me a new hinge over night.I haven't noticed any leakage.

Installation is easy and only takes a few minutes. I would recommend this product, good way to keep your things clean and dry.

Very easy to install and even easier to open. Rated it lower because the cover doesn't seal against the tail gate, sticks up about 1/4".Hoping that the hot sun would allow it to stretch, but after 2 months, it hasn't.
