Q: Is the sunbed material an acrylic mesh

I think so. Mine is 4 years old and has been left out in the rain. The adjustable sun shade is particulary nice as it just keeps the sun out of your eyes when the rest of your body gets the sun.

No. The sunshade is a very simple structure and my suggestion is to straighten the piece that is bent. If it is bent beyond repair, replace it with a copy of the good one made from wood or aluminium.
