If you're considering keeping honeybees, or you're just curious, this is a great starting place. Something more comprehensive is called for before you install your first hive.

I already had a great deal of knowledge about bees but this book opened up my eyes to another layer that I was blind to. I am better able to understand my bees and can take care of them better after reading this book.

I really liked this book. It was easy to read, right to the point. Great fast bedtime reading. Good little book to start you up into the world of bees.

Nachdem ich bereits viele Bücher über die Bienenhaltung gelesen habe wurde ich auf dieses Buch aufmerksam und habe es mir vorbestellt. Es ist in <englisch, was ich toll finde so musste ich nicht auf die Übersetzung warten! Dieses Buch beschreibt alles, was der Bienenhalter zu Anfang wissen sollte um selbst Honig zu ernten und natürlich glückliche Bienen zu haben. Ich fühle mich für unsere Schwärme sehr gut gerüstet. Die Bilder (es ist alles in schwarz-weiss gehalten) verdeutlichen viele Aspekte zusätzlich. Auch auf Allergien etc wird eingegangen. Ich kann das Buch empfehlen.

Good intro bee bool

This is a very excellent little book chocked full of information for a first time or beginner beekeeper. It covers all the basics that are needed and breaks it all down in a simple and easy to understand style, without over-whelming the reader with too much information.
