Unbearable, unpredictable flushes
I've used this brand for a year, but I'm switching now. During the past few months, I've had several major flushes from this product. "Timed release" means there should be no flushes like this, so to me this means the company is having problems with quality control and inconsistent mixing of ingredients. The most recent flush lasted for 1.5 hours. Beyond feeling hot and itchy, it advanced to painful prickling, like cactus prickles all over my body. My heart felt fast. My face was swollen. I had PURPLE areas on my feet and hands -- that was freaky!! Ice packs made little difference, cold shower helped a bit. This was by far the worst flush ever, and the intensity actually frightened me. I certainly can't risk this happening at work. These flushes have happened over the course of 2 different bottles.

For me, it works the same as Niaspan for a fraction of the cost
Really a great price compared to my Niaspan even with insurance. I've used these tabs over the slow release 500mg made by Doctors Best. The only draw back is every once in a while I take one if these boogers and wham! Niacin Flush!!! As the more educated and eloquently spoken reviews state, this is not true "Niacin" and should be prescribed by a physician rather than trusting my, or any other any reviewer for that matter. All I know is that my HDL is higher and my LDL is lower, and that's exactly what happened with the Niaspan for nearly 20 times the cost. As for the other ailments that Niacin may help with - I have no clue, currently I am not afflicted with those (or perhaps they too have been muted by the use of Niacin).

Reasonable substitute for "Slo-Niacin"
Tried this when Slo-Niacin 750mg tabs became unavailable for some reason.Contains what it says, and works as advertised. Timed release avoids that "niacin flush" -- at least it works for me.Only complaint is that the tablets are pretty big -- larger than the equivalent dose of Slo-Niacin.On the plus side, these cost less than half what Slo-Niacin does, and seem to work the same: got my HDL up and my LDL down.Give it a try.

great health benefits!
Delivery on time, product as described. If you haven't researched niacin, do so - for me it lowers cholesterol, and promotes much better sleep. So I do a timed-release niacin like this at bedtime - and sleep better!

Excellent product. Very well priced.
Great product. Timed release niacin and a fraction of the cost of other brands. Time release functions the same as others.
