Good tie out. So far so good.
Product is as described. I've been using it for a few weeks and so far so good. My dog is a black lab mix and she pulls on her chain a lot. She'll get to running and try to break it or pull the steak out of the ground and this one's holding her just fine when she's on it. It seems very sturdy and unlike regular ones the ends of these are different and she hasn't slipped off of it yet. On a regular chain I always have to use a lock tie to keep the part that connects to her collar from coming undone. With this one I just put on and didn't have to mess with. One small note though. The ends of this tie out are super large. Much bigger than your average tie out so if you have a little dog or a small collar with a tiny little loop for a leash this probably won't fit. It also extends my dogs reach by a few extra inches. The clasps are just much larger than normal ones so if you have your dog tied to a certain area you need to be aware that his/her reach will be extended by just a bit. So far I'm pretty satisfied. I'll update my review later to see how long the tie out lasts. Usually what happens is the plastic starts rotting and then after that the metal on the tie out gets rusted and it starts to wear. We'll see how long this one lasts.

You've tried the rest, now try the best...
I am writing this as a puppy parent to two St Bernard/Mastiff mixes, who were 81 and 76 pounds at 6 months old. I bought the 90 lb and 125 lb tie outs as they have grown and neither lasted more than three weeks. The boys tangled them and up and pulled until the kinked parts gave way. This is much thicker and sturdier than those. When they tangle, the two chains wrap around each other, rather than them being able to tie them up in tight knots, like they did with the thinner cables. The latch is a bit harder and requires two hands to first open it up. Once you have it open, you can hold it open with one hand and clip it on. I was not a fan at first, but I can see how it is impossible for a dog to escape. I had been clipping these to harnesses so the boys didn't pull on their necks, but after they broke both of their harnesses, I switched to connecting these to their collars. As many reviewers have noted, these will not last forever, as the plastic coating will crack under regular wear and tear. I have no problem buying these every 6 months to ensure that my rambunctious (but completely harmless) boys do not wander the neighborhood. I had neighbors bring them home a few times with the thinner tie-outs.

Awesome
I have dogs that have thumbs! Some how they can figure out how to unlatch regular pull down spring latch tie outs. I used to duct tape the whole neck area of the spring latch area of the cheap one. And it was a pain to unwrap to take the dog for a walk. This one is awesome. There is nothing to pull down with thumbs. The only thing is.. that my bad dog likes to pull on the tether and play tug-of-war against the tie down steak in the ground. By doing this the dog slowly strips theplastic off the cable. Once the cable plastic has been striped and the cable shows for aprox 2 weeks I will go ahead and replace. Usually about the 4 or 5 week rust will appear and eventually the bare cable will break. Other than the bad dog, the cable is great.

Heavy duty tie out.
My dog is a Siberian Husky who has gotten loose and killed the neighbor’s chicken twice She chewed through a nylon/cotton 20 foot lead. I’m getting ready for knee replacement and cannot walk very far so I put her out on the deck. I never leave her out while away and check on her every few minutes. A heavy duty tie out with bull snaps on each end. Can not be tied to trees or posts as it becomes tangled making your dog subject to serious injury.

Heavy duty cable
Like it our 2 dogs are hard cable. Especially when neighbors dog it out. Working great for us so far. The takes some getting use too.

Ive bought 2 of these in the past year
Ill start first with the positives. Its a strong cable and works well. Some reviews had complaints about the ends of the tie out being difficult to use. That is great as far as im concerned because it means that our pets cannot open the end by twisting or spinning around as they play. Now for the negatives. The vinyl covering is cheap and it cracks and breaks off allowing moisture in and rusts out the cable. Ive had two of these cables in the past year and both of them within a couple of weeks the vinyl cracked. The first one I didnt notice and it allowed moisture in and the cable frayed and broke within months. Im lucky my young Boxer didnt run away, he came to the door with just a foot of the lead connected to his collar. The second one is doing the same exact thing. I dont leave him out for extended periods of time either. He does his business and wants to come back in the house right away so he's not out for extended periods of time on the lead. I wont be buying this brand again.

Over the years
I must have purchased over 20 of these tie outs within the last 8 years..need to check my past orders...there are two brands I use depe ding on the price its running at the time of purchase. I love these...I have noticed the plastic coating doesn't seem as strong as before. Not a huge concern because I make it a point to replace it every Fall. I need a ew and strong leash to get through the Winter months...I replace it in the Spring if the Wintery weather beats up the leash. If not, we get as much use out of it until Fall co.es around. These are not a forever tie out. It needs to be replaced at the least annually to keep our fur babies safe...Our dogs are leashed outside quite regularly when no ones outside because of the leash law, speeding cars and frequent visitors to the ranch...we need to keep everyone safe...they pull on the leash when strangers drive up the road o to our property, hence the need to replace it.

Heavy duty, light and my dogs love it!
I have 3 pit bulls that are power houses and it is very strong along with being lightweight! They don’t like heavy chains and this is wonderful! Should have gotten another one.

Super beast says it all
This is one seriously heavy duty tie out but surprisingly lightweight compared to a chain and just what I was looking for, just a shame I had to buy from the USA to actually get something this strong as I couldn't find anything very strong here in the UK. I would have given 5 stars however, after only a month there are some small areas of surface tea stain rusting (it has rained every day for the past month), nothing significant and it does wipe off fairly easily. Only time will tell if this will effect the longevity of the ends. Good thick coating on the cable. Odd cable clips but easy to use. I'm now waiting for a cat to appear in my garden to ensure my 25kg musclebound dog can't break the cable, although I'm 98% positive he can't break this one, although he might destroy the planter it's tied to instead! In a pinch I might even be able to pull a car with this cable it looks that strong. If i remember correctly the previous pets at home dog tie out I bought was meant for dogs up to 50kgs which he snapped in 2 days, then snapped another 3 times until it was a quarter of it's original length.
