30 Caliber Bolt Action Pen

This is the perfect gift for the gun nut or military buff in the family.I bought this to replace my other one, which was the same except for a kind of a grey chrome rather than gold. I lent it to a friend, who immediately misplaced it, thus earning him First Place on my "never going to loan a pen again" list. Fortunately, it was found, so this is my backup.What I really like about this pen is, it is cool, manly, interesting, and yet also professional. You can stick this in a shirt pocket with business casual dress and still look good. Non-gun nuts will be fascinated by it, and gun nuts will go, well, nuts over it. Be prepared to tell them where you got it, as that question is certain to come up.I've always liked Parker pens, so I consider it an extra bonus this takes Parker refills. There's quite a few refills available, so you can find the ink, color, and point to suite your fancy. Unfortunately, Parker refills aren't always available at local office stores, a situation that I can't quite understand, but hey, you're an Amazon shopper, so who cares what the local stores carry?The action on the pen takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it's just as easy to use as any other action, and much easier than twisting.I took one star off because there's an imperfection in the wood. Of course, wood isn't supposed to be perfect, however this was a tiny knot in the wood, and a chunk is missing from it. The whole point of using wood is to appreciate the awesome fact that, no matter how Man tries to make nature perfect, nature will still be nature, and it has its own program. That doesn't mean, however, that we shouldn't try for perfection. A knot is unacceptable, at least for a 5 star review. It wasn't a reason to return it for me, but I was slightly disappointed.Highly Recommend!

I bought the pen for a MSG who was PCSing. Had it engraved with his name. Perfect gift. He LOVED IT!
