After All These Years

This "greatest hits" collection has nearly all my favorite AP tracks, along with the some delightful new additions (After All These Years, After the Last Tear Falls, etc) plus some re-recordings of older songs (Holy Is The Lord, Nothing to Say, etc). The thematic arrangement/ordering of the songs on the record is also very thoughtful and flows together nicely - so much so that you find yourself tending to want to listen straight through the CD from the beginning to the end, which is impressive given the span of time the songs cover. I think the re-recording of "Holy is the Lord" is particularly powerful. This is an equally great record for getting introduced to AP's music for the first time and for re-enjoying much of his best work. I have all of APs other CDs and find myself listening to this collection surprisingly often. I personally would've loved to have had a re-recording of "Hosea" included on the record, but you can't have them all I suppose!

This is my favorite album from my favorite artist. Lots of beautiful ballad-like songs with warm, lilting, haunting melodies and down-to-earth lyrics that challenge and inspire me to live fully and abundantly for God with my heart tenuously balanced between the promise that all will be made right in the new heaven and earth and the beautiful heartbreak of living in this sin-shattered world. If you're hesitating as to which Andrew Peterson album to buy, just buy this one! Just do it!P.S. Andrew Peterson, if you read these reviews, it was listening to your music for free on Hoopla (through my public library) and Spotify that persuaded me to go purchase this collection and your Burning Edge of Dawn album! Good move to get your music out there online. Now I listen to it all the time offline, too!

I own almost all of Andrew's music, and even so—this is a beautiful collection with some additions and differences that make it worth owning—for either the hardcore fan or the casual listener. He's a deep, beautiful songwriter (and a truly kind and authentic person). I'm so grateful for his music and for this collection.

Definitely one of the most unsung performers of Christian music. Along with being a great guitarist, Andrews voice is distinctly unique. He really grows on you the more you listen to him. I will say, you really need to get some of his other CD's. This offering is only a fraction of his music. Andrew has some really meaningful lyrics in his songs, they will move you and uplift your faith in Jesus Christ. I think you will be surprised how many CD's he has out there. I think every Christian needs to listen to Andrew Peterson.

Love this- he is singing about the hard times and when we suffer and things just don't add up-while keeping a robust faith and eye on God. Realistic not saccharin. Good to play on a loop on the way to work-yearning, tuneful vibe. And lots of songs on there too.
