Does not look like product pictured
The cheese is very good, but looks nothing like the picture. Just know that if youre expecting to see those traditional forms pictured, you’re actually going to get 2 one quarter pieces in plastic. We’ll order from a local deli next time.

Taste & Texture exactly as it should be!
I read a very bad evaluation on this product. That posting delayed my buying this product for 1 month. This Caciocavallo, Kashkaval, Kathcavallis, Kashar (Horse Cheese) is common in Southern Italy, Greece, Balkans and Turkey. Its history goes back to the Roman times. It has a unique texture and mild aroma. A milder and less saltier version of Manchego cheese of Spain. There is a Bulgarian Version sold as Kashkaval Cheese, but last couple of years either the manufacturer lost the original yeast, or recipe or they store the cheese in freezers which alters the texture and taste and turns it into a cheddar like cheese, which I cannot stand. I did not weigh the chunks that came in the package. But product-wise this is what Caciocavallo should look, smell and taste like. I would buy again without hesitation. Bad reviewers had no idea what this cheese ought to be like!
