I'm only using this for sharpening scissors. I have a pair in the garage that I've used to cut sheets of sandpaper - not a good idea. To make it easier I separated the 2 halves. The sharpening angle is perfect and the scissors cutting edge looks like new. If the tool did this for the entire length it would be genius. Unfortunately due to the position of the cutting wheels, etc. the back 1 inch is not sharpened. I cleaned that up with a flat stone. This tool is definitely worth it for me to keep utility scissors working and not have to throw them away when they get dull.

I used it to sharpen all my knives: serrated. straight, scissors, small and large. It sharpened all. It was very easy to use and effective. Note that when using it place it on a workbench or counter that's easy to clean up. The dust from the grinding wheel falls to the counter. Small and compact. I highly recommend.

This is a grinder. It leaves metal powder on surface after you finish make sure you clean it up. It took me a few tries to get the method down. Advise: pay attention to angle you put knife in. Directions in package were riddled with wrong words, probably a language translation issue. Be sure to read instructions several times. Don't use course side unless knife is dull. I think that was how I put a notch in it. I would bet a real Chef would say a sharpening stone was better, cause you can nick your knife with grinders if you use it incorrectly. I like it: my knife can cut tomatoes again. Yay!

Having our businessMahoski Gourmet Foods we must make sure our knives a always sharp. This knife sharpener is quick and powerful. It also has course and fine sharpening which is important. This will be a much values product to our business and we can throw away our hand sharpener with this being electric. Love it.

Idk what to think.. 1st off it seems like it sharpens the wrong side of the scissors.. I only bought this bc of the scissor sharpener.. It shut off on me, so here when it cools down, hopefully itll then back on & I'll try the scissors again.. Next, I didn't expect it to be this loud! I feel like im in a wood mill where they cut wood with big loud saws.. However, id look over that if the scissor sharpener worked.. Gonna try again soon. If it doesn't work, ill be returning

I sharpened some kitchen knives and I can’t believe the difference the sharpener made to my knives there like new ! Unbelievably easy!

I have a knife sharpener that I enjoy but I wanted one for scissors so I got this one. What a mistake I made. It's horrible and only sharpen the bottom tip of the scissors. And it tore it up. Don't waste you money. Go buy something reputable from a good brand.

Suction cups may as well have been left off. They don't hold on formica or wood. The motor is incredibly weak. Just the natural weight of my knives was enough to stall the motor. Definitely don't push down on the knife. Beware, there are several of this same unit under different brands. I doubt any of them is any better than this one. It's an inexpensive unit and operates like one.

After a few hours of use the unit stopped working. I had to return it and got a refund for the purchase but have not received any reimbursement for the shipping cost.

I’ve only been able to use this twice—during the second use, the sharpener started sounding like a choked chicken. It gets warm to the touch within seconds now and smokes after a moment whether I’m trying to sharpen anything or not. The smoke smells like burning plastic, and is coming from the sharpening grooves as well as the ventilation holes at the bottom. I don’t know why this has happened—nothing looks misaligned and I made sure to read the instructions before use. I’m not pressing at an angle or applying significant pressure. It does sharpen, which is great, but for only being able to use it once and now being afraid of a fire, I wouldn’t recommend this. Especially at the price point.
