My fave since the 70's
I've loved this since the 70's, and it's become scarce around here. One of our few store choices (we're in the exurbs) has the no-sugar-added version, which I'd normally prefer, but for whatever reason it gets soggy faster. I don't know why the sugar adds extra crunch, but it does. Anyway, this is the perfect muesli for me. If it was good enough for the Queen Mother, it's good enough for me!

Not the original original Alpen, but still excellent
This is the "original" (meaning not unsweetened and not modified) Alpen, but it is from Canada, and it tastes different from the original original Alpen as came to us from England. In the original original, there is malt, as I recall, which gives it a pleasant sweetness. This doesn't have that ingredient, and suffers for it. For my money it is still the best of the muesli cereals on the market today

A bit of a disappointment.
The cereal is ok, but a poor substitute for Familia.

Great crunch
I usually eat muesli Swiss-style, mixing it with yogurt and letting it sit in the fridge for at least a few hours. That's the best way to eat Bob's Red Mill muesli, for example. This is better if you just stir it in yogurt and eat it, though, like you would granola. Alpen is toasted to a nice crunch, but it has a lighter texture than granola. It has less sugar than most granolas, too, so it doesn't taste like you're stirring in Frosted Flakes.Bob's Red Mill muesli - https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000QSG10E/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_XMhQFb48XP71X

Very bland but probably healthy depending on the source of the grain.
This is a mix of grains and a few rasins. Its extreemly bland. I saw this product in a show on Netflix one of the actors was eating it out of the box during a conversation with another actor. I decided to look it up and decided to give it a try. The box is quite small and the product is basically bran flakes (smaller in size than say rasin bran cereal) and rolled oats with about 15 rasins in the whole box. If your looking for a bland mix of oats and bran this is the product to buy. It doesn't say where the grain comes from, but is Non GMO verified, however it is not organic. The product is from Canada.

I mix the contents of the box (in a bag) with a lot of dried fruits and nuts
As I said above I mix it with fruit and nuts and eat with milk. My grandson likes it out of the bag as an afternoon snack.
