It works fine.
It was not specified that one needs a portable charger plugged into the vest when it is to be used. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. You can buy the portable chargers on Amazon.

It lasted 2 months of light use. stayed focused on shoulders, that's all
Pirchased Aug 27, not sure when it arrived. Used lightly, not even enough to need to wash it, died just now on dec 6.Save your $. Spend more on a higher quality item. I wish I had........................I was hoping it would go further down to my shoulder blades, but only heats the back of the neck/upper shoulders. Either way, it helps with my chronic pain.

Good Idea But No Warmth
Provided almost zero warmth. The heating pad area is very, very small. I was really hoping this would slimly fit underneath a jacket to provide some more heat. I couldn’t feel it at all wearing a shirt and just barely when it was on my skin.

completely failed
The jacket stopped working completely a couple of days ago. I tried different batteries. I've had it for a little bit over a month.

Game changer. Wear under your own pretty jacket.
I love it. I bought several heated jackets and tops. They were all ugly and bulky. I bought this vest, and it's easily the winner. I wear it over a thin light top, and under my own jackets. The heat is lovely, and actually covers more area than the picture suggests. The heat elements go right up to the tops of the shoulders, and around the back of my neck.I also like the position of the power bank much more than all the other jackets and tops. It sits over my ribs, front left side. It's much less noticeable there, both for me feeling it, and for the way it looks. All the other options had the power bank sitting on my belly, which is bulky and obvious. It's reversible. Fuzzy grey on one side, shiny black on the other. All these heated tops have a glowing button for turning then off and on, and for setting high / medium / low heat. The button glows very brightly, which, with the vest, is at least is hidden under my jacket. As the product description says, you need your own 5V power bank. Standard for charging anything with a usb connection. I have two on rotation, so I always have one available. On the highest heat (red light) it lasts for three hours.Just a note about heating your back only. A lot of heated jackets have heat elements in the front, for your hands in your pockets. This sounds nice, but I found heating my belly felt weird and uncomfortable. Also, heat elements at the front are very bulky. When you're standing, they look bulky, and when you're sitting, they bunch up.I'm 5'5" and 120 lbs. The small fits me perfectly.I bought a second vest after trying it, as a backup.
