excellent value, does what it needs to do
I've had the stamina recumbent bike/rower for 15 plus years and two cross country moves and it still works great. I wanted an UBE. I had one with the water wheel and it didn't last. This product has a small footprint which I needed because of lack of space. The footprint is about the same as the other stamina, except shorter but higher. Very sturdy and simple to operate. Not all the fancy electronics as the scifit, but I use my apple watch workout which is fine. The price point/value is excellent, especially with the massive reduction from list. Highly recommended.

Quiet running provides steady resistance
Arrived within a couple of days of ordering. Securely packaged but easy to unbox and assemble. I had it up and running in about 30 minutes. It peddles very quiet. The magnetic resistance is easy to adjust providing consistent resistance for all the settings.I wanted something that would provide arm aerobics without going the elliptical route. The hand grips and foot peddles move independently of each. Load metrics (i.e. PRM and distance) come from the peddles. No metrics are generated by the hand grips. There is a belt running between the peddles and the grips but only serves to assist syncing the hand grips revolution with the peddles while peddling. There is not enough belt friction for the hand grips to drive the foot peddles, nor for the peddles to actual rotate the grips. I wanted something to help keep my arms moving while cycling and it does this well. The display uses large black numbers on gray that is easy to read. While the display is not backlit but can still be read in a dimly lit room. I like to let the display rotate between the different the settings so I can keep an eye on how fast I'm peddling, far I've cycled, how many calories burned and how long I've been at it. I do have to release the hand grips grab the pulse sensor next to the seat to check my PBM. There is no blue tooth, or wireless connectivity.I was concerned about the bike's sturdiness. One of the demo videos showed a little side-to-side sway with the display neck and head, while the model was exercising. I have not noticed any side-to-side way. In fact the whole bike is very solid and stable.Downloading the PDF instruction manual will answer most assemble and operating questions. If you don't need the rotating hand grips I would recommend looking at a recumbent only or elliptical. If you are like me and don't want an elliptical but want to keep your arms is motion then this bike is worth the price.

Upgraded to 4 Stars
Just received the bike and am in the process of assembling it all so this will be updated as I progress. One feature statement that caught my attention is "Adjustable angle seatback;..." and it is stated in several places with one being a photo showing a knob that makes you think it's the angle adjustment referenced in the specifications. I could not figure out how to adjust the angle of the seatback - there is no adjustment. Why the fuss about this? If you have "AS" of the spine then you know that an adjustable angle would certainly be a nice feature to have and is what I thought I was purchasing.4 Apr 2017 Update: I have revised my initial review to 4 stars based on the fact that Stamina Products stepped up to the plate to help me get an adjustable seatback made. They sent a second seat assembly that I have a machinist modifying. The bike is now fully assembled and being used a bit as is from the factory. It is a solid made bike and I do not want anyone to think it is not. I was expecting what was advertised (adjustable angle seatback) and this model does not have that feature. They had over 4 years to make the correction. It appears that Stamina has finally made corrections to the features list on their site as well as now on Amazon and a few other resellers sites. If it wasn't for the misleading advertising and a bit of a hassle getting their attention, I would have given it 5 stars. When the seatback is modified to be adjustable, I'm sure this will be a comfortable and excellent exercise bike. The hand pedals work great when used alone (not using foot pedals at same time) for getting an upper body workout.

Don't hesitate to buy this bike!
I purchased this bike in February and I can honestly say it is the best money I have spent in my 56 years. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia late last year and encouraged to exercise. My Dr sent me to Physical Therapy where I used a 5000.00 recumbent bike and just fell in love with it. I could not afford that so began looking for something similar. This bike does everything that the expensive one did except have resistance for arms and legs at the same time. I have not found this to be a problem at all--I just alternate arms and legs and it works great. It is sturdy, very quiet and takes up little room. It fits in the corner of my bedroom so I can watch TV while I ride. I have not missed a day or using it since I received it unless I am out of town. I always feel better when I get off of it, even on really bad days.I will also mention that I have never had a weight problem but also never really had any muscle. I really started to lose strength as I got into my 50's. I feel so much stronger after using this bike! Everyday tasks are much easier and I actually can see some muscle definition in my arms and legs! I have worked up to level 5 and it really is a good workout. If you are considering this bike, do it!
