Ti Amo: A Mafia Crime Boss Romance (The Battaglia Mafia Series Book 2)

LOVE THIS SERIES...Some spoilers.
I LOVE the Godfather movies and this series reminds me so much of it but MUCH MUCH BETTER. Gio is of course Michael Corleone. Lorenzo is Fredo and Catalina is the young Connie. You never saw the passion or love from Michael to Kate as you do with Gio. And Kate was submissive and passive until she got to her breaking point, but not Mira. Mira is strong throughout, and although sometimes she may not win the argument she stands her ground. I love how the basic elements of one of the true greatest stories was created in a fresh exciting light. Of course the book series for the Grandfather was written many years ago and such scenes in the bedroom would not have been accepted. The only bit of a downside to this series is the time frame. Don't get me wrong, I believe in the passion and lust, and Gio and Mira had it in spades. But...they only knew each other for 3wks before they were separated and I found it a little bit difficult to believe that everyone was so desolate (especially Gio) for the 2yr aftermath. Now she's back into the household after being gone so long and they pick up like they've never been apart and she's "running the family side of things" as if she's known these people all her life. This is the ONLY reason why I took off one star. I just felt that, if they had been doing their courtship for at least a few months it would have been more believable. I will say though, it reads as if all these people knew each other for years rather than a few weeks. One other complaint I have that kinda bothers me is Kei. There is no doubt that he loves Mira, and Mira also has no doubt of his feelings for her. They had a long history, much longer than her and Gio. What bothers me I felt that Mira was just too quick to accept Gio's excuse on his reason to kill Kei and Mira was like I understand you need to do what you need to and that's that. Almost as if she just totally shrugs Kei off, like he just NEVER mattered at all. This bothers me A LOT. Kei saved her life and that of her daughter. I felt this was a big betrayal for all he's done for her and her daughter and it was like a total slap in the face to me. So he lied about about her being in the witness protection program....so what? Gio lies were much more selfish and damaging to Mira. OK, Kei may of lied about the protection program, may of lied about Gio calling, shoot we also know he put a hit on Gio, but as far as Kei is concerned, in his mind Mira is being forced because of Gio....he's looking at that he's rescuing her. To me, Mira put up more of a fight for Domi who she barely knows than she ever stood up for Kei.So really these two reasons are why the timeline doesn't quite work for me. 3 weeks to me wasn't enough to warrant such extreme behavior. I can believe it from Kei simply because he knew Mira and loved Mira for much longer. I don't know how Kei will be portrayed in the next few books but if he's turned "bad" I really wouldn't blame the guy. He sacrificed a lot for Mira. He broke the law to protect her and he dipped into connections he wanted to not really be a part of to do it. But you know, sometimes bad things happen to "good" people and that's just life. I get that.Anyway I still very much love this series. Very compelling, definitely keeps you glued to the story as all this drama, deceit, passion, love all plays out. I just think more invested into a better timeline would have made this series much more believable. Can't wait to start book 3 tonight!

Ti Amo ( Battalia Mifia Series)
This is the second installation of the Battalia series and I enjoyed both books immensely. However I read an earlier review where this character Mira was compared to Royal from the Medlov Crime family series. Huge difference!! Yes Mira actually had a career and Royal had just finished school and was about to embark on a career. The difference between both women was that Royal was completely unaware of Dimitri's dark side violence wise, even though there were clues she should have picked up on but she was not overly intelligent and she was young and far to trusting. Whereas Mira came off as hard and nonsensical and in reality she was utterly stupid and easily fooled despite all the obvious signs. I mean really!! She really got on my nerve and I found her highly hypocritical. Giovonni is surrounded with violence on a daily basis and she witnessed her friend killed in a bomb explosion meant for Giovonni's cousin Lorenzo, and still she went along with the concocted story of some sort of firework freak accident. Then Kei who has only shown her love and literally saves her life she turns on him, even though he was no innocent himself. However his past discrepencies were mostly confined to his place of birth Hong Kong. Never has he shown her any violence or subjected her to anything that could bring her harm. I knew based on the reading that he had a dark past that he went to great length to separate himself from yet remained semi connected. The bottom line is yes he manipulated Mira out of love to protect her and remove her from Giovonni's clutches, but she was safe and out of harms ways. I did not like how Kei covered up those two peoples deaths as though their lives were unimportant...that was horribly wrong and I was bothered by that-all to protect Mira. Giovonni shows her a case file on Kei's past transgressions and after reading it she completely turn her back on Kei and does exactly as Giovonni instructs her futhering Kei's down fall and she does it without batting an eye. What about all the deaths and orders to kill others given by Giovonni and his blatant lifestyle! Really! She could overlook all this and welcome and embrace the life she will lead as Giovonni's Donna, yet she is quick to judge Kei's actions. I really hope that Kei rise above everything and when and there will be a when, mira, calls for his help again he refuses to assist her because chances are she will betray him again at Giovonni's command. In closing, Mira and Giovonni's life is based soley around sex. Sex is their entire existance, never have they been in a room together and not engaged in sex. It seems like Mira's only purpose is to sexually satisfy Giovonni carnal urges. Kei has never pressured her and it was clear how he felt about her yet he did not pressure her. One day back from the dead and already Giovonni is arranging a sexual escapade and he does not let up. I am eager to read how this plays out but again I find Mira weak, needy and easily manipulated. She know's her sexual powers over Giovonni and I Believe one of his own people will use her to get to him because she is blatantly welding this power and it is noticed by everyone and I believe ultimately this will be her down fall. I am pro-Kei and I hope he persevere.Adrienne Out Of Columbia,South Carolina

Great read, but one thing ...
I really enjoyed this book as it continues the great romance between Gio and Mira, and I am definitely looking forward to reading the final book, La Famiglia, in the series. However, there is one reason why I have not given it 5 stars. As this is the fourth book I have read by Sienna Mynx - and I do enjoy her books - there is one very irritating aspect to her writing that makes me want to scream every time I come across it. I am referring to her use of two words - 'smirk' and 'sly'. I feel that she uses these words in totally the wrong context on too many occasions. They are both very negative, distasteful words but she seems to bandy them around an awful lot. Obviously, with a plethora of different characters in her stories there will often be a need for characters to smirk, give sly looks or act in a sly manner. However, these words are very often used in loving and friendly situations, where the word 'smile' or similar would be far more suitable. Some might feel I am picking flies, but the overuse of these words is really very irritating and unnecessary and everytime she misuses them I have to grit my teeth in annoyance, as they jar with the positive emotions she is portraying between characters and makes me dislike whoever is doing the smirking at that moment.Despite this one irritation, I would highly recommend Mynx's Battaglia Series.

Exciting!!
This is book 2 of the Battaglia Mafia Series and Gio has his Mira back. I so love me some Gio he's loves Mira and not only tells her but shows her. Love Eve their baby girl and her antics. Now the problem I have is the use of the work 'smirk' by the men in this story( it was over used in book 1 as well) had me sighing..Lord Sienna is there no other word to use? Bloody hell..lol...Those men sure love that self-satisfied smile.Also..Catalina is not only spoil but manipulative....I hope she develop more in book 3 as I am starting to dislike her..I do like Domi though, he's loveable and sweet. Watch out for Mira's ex-beau Kei.Overall a great read. Took me a while to kind of get into it though. Hope the final boo blows me away. Good editing.

Giovanni and Mira are the best pair ever
Destino and this smouldering man Gio had me up all night I couldn't stop reading.I love how tough and ruthess he is yet can be so obsessed with his Bella and Eve his baby girl.I loved the story his power, his love for his family. The two faces he presents in these Battaglia books is wonderful I love him I also love the way he doesn't get all his own way with Bella. His heart belongs to her for ever. His obsession with his dark beauty has to be read about.Deserves 10 stars the whole series does. many more please or I will have with drawl symptomsSienna you are a great authorJeanette

Grammer.
I love your first two and I cannot wait to start on book three. I never pay more than £3 for an E-book but I think you are worth it.My only issue is Grammer. Because the grammar is not on point it takes me longer to read, I get a little confused with some sentences. But you Ms Mynx are very, very good.! You was recommended to me by a cousin and I have recommended you to others as well.I cannot wait to read your past works and whatever you do in the future..Be very proud.

Great Series - 3 Books in all
Okay book 2 in the series and I love it. Mira and Gio are back together again. However, Kie has been allowed to live and is causing all kinds of trouble for our couple. I wish Gio had just killed him but then he would have been in trouble with Mira - so no winning there.Well worth the money and time. Book 2 was a real page turner. Highly recommend the series.
