Beautiful Kontiki, keeps excellent time
The watch is wonderful. I’ve owned many ETERNA watches throughout my life. This is a very nice edition of the Kontiki.

Would give it 5 stars, I may have received just a bad batch with a stain.
Three stars because the rose gold lugs on both sides have permanent stains. Per the manual I tried wiping them using the supplied white microfiber, even tried with a dab of water and polished it for 60 seconds and still, the stains that seem like were maybe caused at the manufacturing staining process don’t go out. I’ve contacted both Eterna directly, and they are currently on a vacation email responder, as well contacted the seller here they amazon and waiting for a response.Given that I get a replacement and perhaps I got just a bad model, or from a bad batch and the replacement doesn’t have the stain issues, aside from that, I’d give this watch five stars. Here is why:Just in the merits of the watch in my hands:- very pleasant ticking sound when held at my ear.- Feels like a solid build. There is great confidence in the gears as I set the time, date, second GMT hour, and hacking second.- setting the date is confident with clicks, not those flimsy sliding action.- The dial and hands are gorgeous! So is the frame around it. Even the little red triangle tip of the GMT hour is highly visible like a red handkerchief sticking out of a black suit from a distance. The red triangle dial tip, blacks, whites, and rose gold are just so beautiful.- One of the best fits of a watch on my wrist. The rubber is the best quality and design I’ve seen so far.- the crown is a work of art which has the signature five ball bearings embedded in it.- the display back is also a work of art.One thing I was not too fond of that much yet is when I manually wind it; the winding ticking sound is not as pleasant as some other high-end Swiss movements. From horological and collecting perspective:- to me the rose gold is the only KonTiki that made sense because KonTiki is the Incan Sun God and was often depicted in Gold colors.- I love the story about the voyage on the water, reminds me of the Apollo mission of the moon watch.- ETA came out of Eterna, and Eterna is the second oldest movement maker!- Eterna invented many things from the five ball bearings, Eterna Matic, Spherodrive, some of the thinnest watches and so much more. With the kind of history they have, this watch will stand its ground.- This is one of the first Caliber39 in-house movements! It’s fascinating, and I feel it’s bound being very popular in the future given the new Eterna corp owner can manage everything right.... I will change this to a 5 star if the seller or Eterna directly helps me get a replacement without the stain or other new issues... and it will be well deserved.
