Good concise book for tox

Easy to use, up to date, Enjoyable to red. Suitable for registrar or consultant working in ED, in fact indispensable. Particularly suited to Australia and New Zealand for the envenomation section.

Amazing detail, yet succint, digestible and useful to manage any toxicological emergency. Love it. I wish I know earlier that it was available as a kindle version

This is the 2nd edition of this text; what was already a fantastic resource has gotten even better. This monograph has cut out the fluff and left only the clinically relevant information you need to manage a patient with a poisoning or toxicologic exposure. After reading the book I have placed it on the shelf in our resuscitation bay. When the residents have a poisons case, they reach for this book first because they can rapidly find the information they need in an easily digestible form. Sections on particular antidotes are standouts. While I don't see many of the creatures from the toxin section, I still enjoyed reading about them. Overall a fantastic reference text.

This handbook could be mistakenly seen as an abbreviated manual with simply the salient features of overdoses and poisonings listed. It is, however, a remarkable text, in and of its own right given its size. It should be considered an invaluable reference not just in medicine, but in all the health professions. Toxicities have a tradition of being managed poorly in Australia. Here is a book that can single-handedly reverse this history if it were to be widely read. I applaud the authors.
