Either mounting method is easy. I’m very pleased with how well these scrapers work after a hike on a muddy trail.
Review: Good product - This works well but be warned that the bristles are very stiff and may damage shoes that aren't made of fairly thick material. I use it mostly on my New Balance shoes and so far it hasn't damaged them but I wouldn't use it on dress shoes or anything except books or athletic shoes. It's easy to assemble and if you choose not to drill it into the ground, the wings on either side make it easy to stand on and then wipe your shoes one at a time. It doesn't always get the smaller pieces of grass or dirt which it might if they had softer bristles interspersed with the larger, stiffer ones.

**Q: I am thinking of buying this for when I come out of my chicken coop with my boots. Do you think it would help to take some of the chicken poop off?**
A: The unit does a good job on smaller shoes.  I have size 15W and my boots don't fit in it.  The width between the brushes on the side is 4", so if your shoe is over 4 3/8 you might be having trouble using this one.

**Q: Is it made in America?**
A: The box says "Made in China".  It is sold in America by Security Engineering.

**Q: The description says 9" L. But photo shows 2 boots , brushes and step on frame. What is overall L?**
A: The brushes & frame are 9-1/4 inches, the step on parts are 4-1/2 inches each.

**Q: We have lots of stickers, will this brush them off?**
A: The brushes on these are pretty aggressive but not sure if it can remove Stickers, it will all depend on the adhesive of the sticker and how stuck it is to the shoe

We are using it to clean off shoes before coming into our pool enclosure. It looks to be very easy to use. It seems study. Tried on my husbands shoes and worked very well. Will try manually on my shoes as mine are more delicate.
