Does everything it is supposed to do.
Good tool, easy to use, well balanced. Coming in at just over 8 lbs it sounds heavy but it is so well balanced it feels lighter than that. Aluminum nail tube is light and strong, the air chuck is offset to keep the air hose off to the side and out of your way. Heavy duty metal belt clip is reversible for left or correct handed users. I fired over 1,000 nails with ZERO issues. Keyless depth adjustment is nice also. Stop scrolling and buy this framing nailer.

Great Framing Nailer
I grew up in construction and have used several brands. I picked this one up to complete my shop this year. As expected, solid design, easy to use and I am sure will last me many many years.I have never used the cordless products: Nailers, Saws, etc but can see they remove the complexity of keeping your hoses from tangling up with you and your project. If I ever tackle a big project again, I may go cordless but this one will do me well for the foreseeable future

Reliable and strong
This is my first framing gun. It’s light and easy to use. It’s powerful and has not failed. My only complaint is when the sleeve of nails get low (3-4 nails) the gun will not operate even after loading a new sleeve. You have to remove the small sleeve of nails and load a new full sleeve. Overall I’m pleased and don't have anything else to compare it with. I used 2-5/8 in and 3in nails successfully.

Makita Power!
So, I am not a framer, but some jobs call for some framing. I had an old Porter Cable and it finally died in the middle of a job. It had already been repaired a couple of times so it was time for the graveyard. Saw this Makita on sale and took a chance as I am a big Makita fan. At first it seemed big and heavy but then I got used to it and love it. Yes dragging a hose sucks but not as bad as the price of a new Paslode! Good nail capacity and it ended up having several guys use it without breaking it. Everyone liked it. One guy said it was a little to big but if a 59 year old man can handle it then so can you. That being said, I am not banging that thing all day. But I did find the more I used it I got use to the weight and realized it is well balanced when you let it fly. And the price is right.

I am a Milwaukee fan, but love Makita tolls my third option is DeWalt. This is working great I love it. I prefer this rather than metabo.

Gun started falling apart after one day!
The nailer started to fall apart after only one day of use. The bolts that held the gun together would not stay tight. I thought about using Loctite but realized that if I was having issues with the gun after less than one day I wasn't going to go out of my way to fix the manufactures product for them. Boxed up and returned the next day. The gun felt good and was lightweight but I think they need better quality control measures at the factory.

Does the job
The Makita AN924 is a solidly built pneumatic framing nailer that is easy to set up and use. It is light and well balanced. I find that it significantly speeds up the framing process.I use this nailer with a safety coupler on the hose that allows me to disconnect the air supply from the tool while keeping the hose attached. This prevents the possibility of an accidental firing of the tool.
