does the job well
I wanted something that was compact, somewhat fashionable, and most importantly, kept the sun off me. This hat accomplishes all three things I was looking for. The fact that it's cotton allows you to fold it for easy storage. The string is adjustable and flexible. The side buttons are a nice touch and make the hat seem more stylish. My head is slightly larger than average so I'd imagine those with a smaller head will find the fit to be too loose.

Even better than expected.
It seems like a very well made hat. I bought it to wear kayaking to block the sun and it should work great. I wanted a bigger brimmed hat and this is perfect to keep my neck from getting sun burned.

Good hat.
I liked this hat a lot, but the string came off on one side, and I had to sew it back on. Other than that, it's a winner.

Seems to be heavy duty material
I like the way the brim slants down slightly. It helps block the sun when it is low in the sky.
