warning: very big and heavy book for a child but still recommended!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My daughter and my oldest son loves Harry Potter series, and they have read the entire book series twice! However, my second son was not a big fan of Harry Potter but he was attracted to Greek mythology so he loved the Percy Jackson series. So we bought the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and he ended up reading the series twice! After he read the series twice, it was no brainer to buy this Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes book, which he also loved reading. I highly recommend this for any children who enjoyed reading Harry Potter books or even if they were not fan of Harry Potter like my 2nd son. Please note that this hardcover book is very big and heavy. It may be too big and heavy for a younger child. If the paperback version also has illustrations like this one, I would actually recommend the paperback version, which would save few dollars as well. But still, this is 5 out of 5 stars and I highly recommend this book to any children!Hope my video and photos were useful... and if they were, please click on the helpful button below. Thank you!

Awesome signed book!
Recently bought a bunch of these rick riordan books I don’t own since most are on sale for $8 (finally got around to magnus chase; i was really missing out its wonderful) and this one arrived in very good shape! Most of the time the books i order are a bit damaged (wrinkled jacket, torn near edges, sticky??? residue on jacket and whatnot) but this one was the picture of perfection. It was a very fun read of course, and I’m not sure if all books are like mine, but the one I received is deadass signed by rick riordan... i saw the signature the day i got this book but since it was written over the illustrators name, i assumed it was john rocco’s signature. But today, i saw a post online of someone showing their trials of apollo book signed and I realized it was the same as the one in my book and googled rick riordan’s signature and sure enough... its his! Maybe I just got lucky haha

"It has really good stories and humor
My 10 year old says, "Epic Epic Epic!" When pressed on why he thought it was epic, he said, "It has really good stories and humor. The old stories were shaken up a bit, and made funny."I agree with him - this is a good way for kids to get the old Greek legends - Hercules, Perseus, Jason and the Argonauts - in a form that entertains young boys. The narrator is sly and sarcastic, and points out the icky parts of the legends well.

stupid heroes commit crimes for good
Told in "Percy's" amusing fashion. He somehow once again manages to include details - l mean details of the actual myths, not snarky remarks or references to 21st century stuff - left out of most tellings of the myths. About how such stupid things are done by the heroes, or how many felonies they commit. (Actually many felonious and stupid doings are included in the usual collections, it's just that most collectors don't point out how evil and stupid they are.) Who do they think they are? Greek gods or something? Reading these proves that Socrates the philosopher of old Athens was right to point out that they are terrible role models for the youth. And why Euripides the play writer had such an easy time writing his tragedies about them.

Good modern teenage telling of the Greek myths.
Very entertaining versions of the greek myths, as told from Percy Jackson's point of view. As a consequence, some of the deeper meanings behind the myths are lost, but it got my 8 year old daughter interested in greek mythology. The biggest problem is that now she won't read the actual myths because she only wants to read Percy Jackson's version. We are working on that.Just as a warning, if you haven't read the Percy Jackson series, there are some spoilers in the book as to the outcome of certain events that happen in the series. If you intend to read the series, you definitely don't want to start here.

Buy it - wonderful book!!
Awesome!! My 12yo son is going to love it! I, being a good mom, read it first and laughed many times over at the skillful narration. Now, I just have to remember to hide it so my son doesn't see it before his birthday and not leave it by my reading chair. The stories are well written & very funny (I'm a sucker for dry sarcasm), and the illustrations are absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this and the other book in this 2-part series, "Greek Gods."

So much more entertaining than I expected
It took me awhile to read this because I thought it would just be a glossary. Don't even remember how I got it. Little did u know it would actually be narrated by Percy with all of his smart alec commentary and references to adventures! I just wish I'd known it mattered and read Gods first so I could get those references, but I doubt I missed too too much. It's not like anything was new information since I obsess over Greek myths and would have been deeply disappointed in myself if I didn't know the best of the best, but it was awesome hearing about them from the alternate perspective of a demigod. Just wish I didn't know what happened to [name redacted to avoid spoiling huge plot point of future books] since every reference made me nearly cry. But like Percy has emphasized since the very first book... Happy endings are rarer beyond rare for heroes.

Learning fun
I have both of Riordan's mythology anthologies. I'm a middle school Reading Resource teacher but also a fan of youth fantasy for my own reading. I like that Riordan did the research to be accurate in his presentation of the ancient myths while inserting Percy Jackson's snarky "voice". References to cell phones and other modern technology bring humor. The narrator also lets us know when the primary documents disagree and weighs in with his [Percy's] opinion about which is most accurate. I've never seen a more usable anthology for use with students for teaching or for enjoyment. I bought both volumes for my grandson this Christmas

Excellent value for money
Arrived promptly and in excellent condition. For the price, I assumed it would be a small paperback version but it turned out to be a large hardback. Excellent value for money. Have subsequently ordered more from this seller.

Good book, on the heavy side.
My kid loved the book, despite its size: it's rather large and heavy.

Ottimo acquisto

My son loves this
Bought this for my son's birthday, he's into Percy Jackson and Greek Gods. I can't complain it's a great book, talks a lot about the different God's and who they were. He really liked this book

Muy bueno
Lo amé. A pesar de que es de pasta blanda, es muy bonito y las ilustraciones hermosas.Me llegó en buenas condiciones, aunque me frustra que no les pongan nada para protegerlo.
